^yup. I like the idea of an aggressive, pressing defense. But our press gets broken with ease by P5 teams and our aggressive defense mostly just fouls all game

A plus from the game, it's the first time in recent memory where we actually shot free throws well. Which is encouraging if nothing else is at the moment. Started off strong and had some good moments but we clearly don't have the energy/depth Keatts' system needs. Or it could (probably) be that OkSt started off bad

Also, I know it's not the most serious conversation, but no way are we talking about worst games without mentioning 47-24. Definitely a stain on our program, and even worse to come out on the losing side of what has seriously been called the worst game in modern basketball history.

He isnt playing PG at Miss State. Their pg is in fact leagues better than Hayes. And when he left the communication handed down from the program was that he wouldnt be a big loss

I'm not gonna rehash it all from this summer, but when you sit behind two stiffs (neither of whom are seeing the floor for us this year) all year when you are clearly leagues better than both, then you got "pushed out".

As far as I'm concerned, losing Shak Moore is Keatts' biggest fuck up behind not having a coherent offensive system.

These guys will hate post you for telling the truth. We pushed Shak out so Beverly/Allen could play 30+ minutes. Beverly transferred and Allen is contributing next to nothing.

Whatever he's gone. The fact that our team has 41 assists and 42 turnovers in four games is awful. Our opponents have 59 assists to 54 turnovers.

In a vacuum, sure. That's reasonable for a freshman. When you are playing behind players you were clearly better than and the team was losing with those players, then it makes less sense.

To tie this back to Keatts since Shak is gone and we are stuck with who we have at this point... Keatts clearly gets rather stubborn about some things when it comes to rotations. Clearly he valued BB for something and as far as I can tell it's that BB (and Allen too) didn't turn the ball over. Shak did. DJ did at times get sloppy with the ball as well.

I am perfectly fine with trading moore for morsell, which is essentially what happened. Morsell is able to switch on defense and not get abused because he's got 3-4 inches and probably 20-25 pounds on Moore. They're both good perimeter defenders, but Moore can't guard bigger guards/wings. They're both scoring at about the same rate this season, despite MSU having played 0 competition so far. Morsell also helps out on the boards which is important since Manny is gone (and would have been important because Manny isn't an all-world rebounder anyways.)

Honestly it's too early to say who's better. But again, NOBODY WANTED MOORE GONE: NOT FANS ON THIS SITE NOR THE GODDAMN COACH. EVERYONE WANTED HIM TO STAY, HE CHOSE TO LEAVE BECAUSE HE THOUGHT HE HAD A BETTER OPPORTUNITY. fuck.

Rebounding is a real problem when you don't have an offensive system that produces easy baskets and most will blame the lack of Bates, but he was never some monster rebounder anyways. I think Hellems trying to be "the guy" is not only fucking us on offense, but it is pulling him away from the basket and he isn't even rebounding as well as he was last year. I don't think it's a coincidence that in the last two games, we have scored more consistently after Hellems fouled out.

He is a fine player and I like the energy he brings, but being a creative scorer is not his game. Reign Hellems in and let him spot up and get the easy baskets he has always gotten. Seabron, Hayes and maybe even some TQ are the guys. Everyone else needs to have a role and chill.
