These cops are genuine idiots...like too dumb to accomplish anything academically with a simultaneous dearth of anything resembling street smarts or social skills.


Why would you harass the neighborhood drunk and then escalate the situation to a beating? Why?!?!?

That's the guy you check in with casually to make sure he's not too fucked up on a winter night. You build a relationship with him, so you can talk him down when he's belligerent or bothering people too much. Never mind the fact that he's the guy who will tell you everything.


And they really, really need to learn context. I know that you're never supposed to run from the police, blah, blah, blah. But if two white guys roll up on an old black man in the middle of the night and call him a punk and a mother fucker, it wasn't too many years ago that the established expectation was to run. Messing with black people and making them run was a beloved national pastime.

And, while we're at it, I think it's time we changed the uniforms and haircuts and shit. Nobody besides police and military personnel style their hair or dress like that anymore. They literally look like they're about to audition for the role of Man Who Shouts Nigger in The Ruby Bridges Story.

^^^The Sterling Brown video is so frustrating, and it says a lot about how far we have to go.

As far as I can tell, so much of what takes place is literally by the book. People are all outraged and stuff, but that original officer did exactly what he was trained to do. Got in his face to smell his breath and clothes. Yelled at him to back away from the car so he couldn't flee in it. Called for back up and started snooping through the car windows a little. And he tried his best to antagonize Brown in a failed attempt to make him look belligerent and more easily justify the trip to jail and vehicle tow.

Basically, he's practicing "good police work" that could have eventually uncovered some small amount of drugs. And, even though they found nothing, the officer still generated some revenue for the system with the vehicle tow and storage.

Of course, all his skinhead buddies didn't need to show up and tase the guy. Shoulda just stopped at extortion.

That Jersey beach incident is such a clusterfuck from both sides. She was obviously aggressive and apparently kicked them (not on bodycam) and charged at them and spat on them (on cam), but why do 2 massive cops have to punch a 20 yr old skinny girl in the head several times? ^i think the article states that the guy was a known gang member, but I doubt the cop knew about the particular prior shooting event; however according to that article the officer did say that he saw a gun (yeah I know, they usually say that), and one was recovered at the scene, so if that gun really did belong to the guy that got shot and the cop did see it, and especially after learning about the prior event, this one doesn’t seem to be as blatantly ridiculous/horrible as many others
