Our biggest problems are kicking off/punting and blowing pass coverages big time in the 2nd half when the defense gets a little tired....I think the kicking/punting thing is a mental thing that a good special teams coach can fix in a week and the blown coverage thing can be fixed by watching film and having the heart to stay mentally and physically tough the whole game...Virginia Tech knows they can exploit these areas but with efficient practices this week these issues can be taken care of

Okay, but Taylor leads the team in rushing (201), he leads the ACC in passing efficiency (165.6), and is second in the ACC in completion percentage (65.3%). Not to mention they have a stud at running back in Darren Evans, who is being helped by freshman stud-in-the-making 4* RB David Wilson. The Hokies rank 41st in rushing, so their running game isn't exactly in bad shape that they need to rely heavily on the passing game.

Wow, he threw for 199 yards in the ECU game, 1 yard shy of 200. Meanwhile, his running backs racked up 250 rushing yards. We should all consider that a "poor" performance for not getting to the "200" milestone. I think he made up for that with 32 rushing yards and 0 interceptions.

Taylor is one of the most athletic, elusive, slippery college QB's I've ever seen. He extends plays and avoids pressure so easily. Opposing team's defensive coordinators would tell you that a QB that is quick and can keep drives alive give them headaches like nothing else. My point is that yeah, he may not be a prolific passer, but he can cause damage in crucial situations. Think what you want, but I'm not going to sit back and act like I don't feel worried about the Hokie's quarterback.

VT concerns me for their physicality and effort. Those boys play hard. However, I don't think they have a lot beyond that... sure they have good/great players at some positions, but as a TEAM, they haven't produced... a shutout is always good... but only scoring 19 points, 12 of which were were FGs, against a pretty horrible BC team doesn't exactly shout offensive prowess.

They'll play strong defense, mediocre offense, and give us the hardest game we've seen all season... but only in spurts. I think our defense will rally, though still give up a good amount of points. I believe we'll establish the running game (well, we NEED to) and pound the turf all day long. RW will/should eventually have the day off. So unless this is VT's breakout game, I'm predicting 42-28.

i watched the first half of the BC-VT game (I don't have cable/satellite and I worked on saturday), and VT's defense isn't very good at all. BC moved the ball well in the first half, but got no points because Shinskie is a QB on par with Stone/Beck. I have no doubt we can have our way with that defense.

Tyrod Taylor is not a good quarterback. I don't care what stats you list, just watch him play. Evans is a good runningback, but their O-Line is very suspect this year, and if we can get a lead and make them throw, it plays into our hand.

On special teams, I'm not really worried about "beamerball". Getting a punt blocked isn't really much worse than having a 6 yard punt.

we spent the whole game running those sideways draw plays to try and setup a playaction and gt knew it was coming and blitz the back side leaving like 4 guys in RW face leading to a pick 6. That play just hasn't worked for us. I'm not saying its a bad play like most of you say during the games. It just isn't working.

I was at a bar where I could watch the NCSU/GT game at the same time as the BC/VT game, and I can say I feel great going into a game at home against them. Their offense is not what it used to be, and if BC had a real QB, it would have been a very different looking game. Matt Ryan would have beaten the shit out of the Hokies, and RW should at least come out on top.
