They're obviously targeting the high-end video production market. Is the market that big and are they this insensitive to price?

and do they have to move them frequently where a magnet mount is preferred over standard VESA?

So stupid. Like engadget or gizmodo said - just save the PR fallout and charge 6k for a monitor with a free stand.

Just picked up an iPad Pro 11" with the Apple keyboard. I really like it. Once you get the keyboard shortcuts down it's a great laptop substitute for a lot of what I do (Email, Slack, reviewing docs). Also a great Reddit device.

The Pro is no different with Surface imo. But Ipad Air and Ipad mini are really specially. I'll just start with the basic one first.

The IOS, IpadOS, WatchOS, macOS are really powerful. They force you to use their products. Only Chrome can be compared probably.

^^You don't have to go with android for wearables. Garmin makes great watches that do most of that these smartwatches do, that integrate well with android.

And AirPods have been outclassed by cheaper, better alternatives.

I heard Apple watch 5 was far more advanced than any other smartwatches.

For some features. The Apple Watch is a Smart watch first and an activity tracker second.

Garmin watches are activity trackers first and smart watches second.

Garmins are significantly more advanced in:

1. Battery life
2. GPS technology
3. Durability
4. Outdoor activity tracking

You have to clarify what "advanced" means. The higher end Garmin watches also cost a whole heck of a lot more than Apple watches as well.

Of course.
Garmin watch is more like Fitbit. It's a wearable device for workout.
Apple watch is also good at health tracking stuff, even iphone can do that. It can even track woman's period cycle.

But perhaps if i can find a suitable replacement, I will look into Garmin and then I can go back to android

I would love to have a Garmin Fenix watch, but I simply can't afford one. I have a 735xt and love it. It's definitely a running watch first, and if you're looking to make calls and listen to music from a....watch, then that isn't the type of device for you. But you still get notifications, you get GPS, incomming calls, waterproofing (it's made to swim with) but what sold me was a 7 day battery life when not using GPS, and when going for runs using GPS, you still get several days.

Are they still gonna expand to RTP in the future like Microsoft? The governor says there's still a chance.
Garmin has a site here.
The finger recognition technique was bought from the founder of K4connect here.

there is no guarantee anything ever happens

So it looks like Apple is planning on ditching wired charging altogether.

I don't see how this is going to go over well with many folks, specifically because of the ability to charge in the car. Does Apple expect people to buy wireless chargers that plug into cig lighter holes? I just don't see how that would work too well. Not everybody has built-in wireless charging in their cars.

i mean they don't give a fuck that you can't charge and listen to headphones at the same time and don't even sell a 1st party dongle to do it, so i don't think they care at all about what kind of chargers you'll need to buy

Wife surprised me with the new AirPod Pros... won't get here until Jan 13.

While I'm thankful for such a great gift; I'm contemplating canceling. I don't run anymore and rarely travel, so I don't really need them. Especially since I have regular AirPods as well as a pair of noise canceling Bose headphones.

Any reason why I should keep them?

I’d say keep them. “Hey siri” functionality and newer battery. If you had gen 2 I’d recommend the opposite.

I wear my Bose over my AirPods in an airplane. You get the Bose noise cancelling with the AirPod ease of pairing with the iPhone.

I’d say keep the pros because they’re a lil smaller and give your regular AirPods to a poor person or something.

^He wasn’t arguing otherwise imo. All phones have bluetooth, even cheap ones. Chances are if they have a cheap phone, they won’t have truly wireless earbuds is what I think he is trying to say

It was just a flippant comment. But of course poor people have bluetooth, and having bluetooth (or airpods for that matter) isn't a sign of not being poor... wtf...

There are several reasons why people choose to pay a premium for Apple products. Here are some common factors:

1. Design and Aesthetics: Apple is renowned for its sleek and visually appealing designs. The company places a strong emphasis on the look and feel of its products, offering a seamless integration of hardware and software. Many individuals appreciate the premium build quality and attention to detail that Apple products often exhibit.

2. User Experience and Ease of Use: Apple is known for its user-friendly interface and intuitive operating systems. The company focuses on delivering a seamless and straightforward user experience across its devices, which can be particularly appealing to those who prefer a streamlined and cohesive ecosystem.

3. Integration and Ecosystem: Apple products are designed to work seamlessly with one another through their ecosystem, allowing users to easily sync and share data across devices. This can be convenient for individuals who own multiple Apple products and want a cohesive and interconnected experience.

4. Software Updates and Support: Apple tends to provide long-term software support for its products, offering regular updates and security patches. This can extend the lifespan of devices and ensure they remain up to date with the latest features and security enhancements.

5. Brand Reputation and Customer Service: Apple has built a strong reputation for its customer service and support. Many people value the assurance of reliable customer service and the option for in-person assistance at Apple Stores or through Apple's online support channels.

It's important to note that these reasons may vary for different individuals, and the decision to pay a premium for Apple products ultimately depends on personal preferences, needs, and priorities.

Except of course when they tell you the newest version of iOS isn't compatiable with your iPad, which would be fine, except you need the newest version of iOS to do something as simple as install the Disney+ app. Good answer, ChatGPT.
