It should be. Glennon may not be the answer for TB, but McCown sure as hell isn't the future of that franchise.

M. Glennon 17/24 121 yards 1 TD 0 INTs 70.0 QBR 96.0 Rating
J. McCown 5/12 58 yards 0 TDs 1 INT 1.9 QBR 22.9 Rating

I mean I know the game was over, but McCown is clearly not the answer. Mike has to be the starter now right???

McCown officially out for at least one game. Here's hoping Glennon plays well next week and McCown stays on the bench where he belongs. Buc fans seem happy at the news that McCown is hurt.

He better make it count.

I wonder if his preparation routine is as insane as Wilson's or Rivers'

yup. bucs have a lot of other problems to resolve, but at least lovie smith was forced to start the right qb for a change.

^^ lol at the bucs making it to 9 wins. At this rate it'll be lucky that either ATL or CAR gets to 9-7 to win the division.

Unreal they still will go back to an old QB who has 0 future in the NFL.

Lovie will not be in coaching much longer. His days are numbered.

I think I've said earlier in this thread...but Glennon my not be the answer for TB at QB. But a 35 yr old career back up definitely isn't the answer either. McCown was pretty shitty the first couple of games he started

this is laughable.

McCown, age 35: 3 games started, 2 TD/4INT...65.8 rating
Glennon, age 24: 5 games started, 10 TD/6INT...83.3 rating

So yes, lets keep going back to McCown...

Some dumb ass team will want McCow as a starter, the Bears just want him back as a backup since Cuddleduds is a mental midget.

Any one with insider access?

http://espn.go.com/nfl/insider/story/_/id/13076243/five-teams-consider-trading-tampa-bay-buccaneers-quarterback-mike-glennon-nfl

Quote :
"Five teams that should consider trading for Mike Glennon
There's a shortage of quarterbacks in the NFL. This isn't news. As we saw this past draft, fewer and fewer starting-caliber quarterbacks are entering the league -- and when they do, they have a very steep learning curve, often coming from spread systems. After Jameis Winston and Marcus Mariota went 1-2 in the draft, we saw several QB-needy teams -- namely the Houston Texans, Cleveland Browns and Buffalo Bills -- ignore the most important position on the field. Instead, they spent the offseason addressing their running games and defenses in an effort to win close, low-scoring games.

With Winston entrenched as Tampa Bay's starter this season, Mike Glennon is relegated to a full-time backup role. At just 25, Glennon remains an intriguing prospect. Like Winston, Glennon entered the league coming from a pro-style system at North Carolina State. Certainly not a plus-athlete or superb runner, Glennon is a pure pocket passer with the height (6-foot-6) and arm strength required to succeed in such a role. Not hyper-accurate, he needs work as an anticipatory passer, but he's shown an ability to drive the ball down the field without making too many mistakes. (His 2.4 percent interception rate since 2013 ranks 14th overall and is on par with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan, among others.)"

(His 2.4 percent interception rate since 2013 ranks 14th overall and is on par with Drew Brees and Matt Ryan, among others.)

Last year was a disaster for the entire Tampa Bay offense. The Bucs lost their offensive coordinator to illness in the preseason, and as the season went along, it became more and more obvious that their offensive line and running game ranked among the worst in football. Both Glennon and Josh McCown were shuffled in and out of the lineup, neither playing well in such an adverse situation. Few would have been successful considering the circumstances, and while there's a lot to still like about Glennon, he certainly not equipped to put a failing offense on his back.

With that in mind, let's take a look at five teams, in alphabetical order, that should give serious consideration to trading for Glennon.

Arizona Cardinals: Last year, the Cardinals were 6-0 when Carson Palmer got the start, but just 5-5 when Arizona's subpar backups were under center. If Glennon was the fill-in QB on last year's team instead of Ryan Lindley and Drew Stanton, the Cardinals would've fared better with Palmer sidelined. If acquired now, Glennon -- whose skill set mirrors Palmer's and fits perfectly into Bruce Arians' downfield passing attack -- could learn quite a bit playing behind the 35-year-old QB. Plus, it'd be good injury insurance for the Cardinals with Palmer coming off his second major knee tear.

Chicago Bears: The Bears would love to be rid of Jay Cutler, but his contract won't allow that. A strong-armed quarterback is a must in the Windy City, and that's one of Glennon's biggest strengths. He'd be an immediate upgrade over Jimmy Clausen, the current No. 2, and could potentially take over for Cutler late this season if Cutler repeats his dreadful 2014 campaign. It's not far-fetched to think that if Glennon ends up in Chicago, he would enter 2016 as a clear starter.

Cincinnati Bengals: This is wishful thinking, as the Bengals have made it quite clear that they are attached at the hip to Andy Dalton. That's a major mistake; in my opinion, Glennon's ceiling as an NFL quarterback is much greater than Dalton's. A.J. Green has long suffered from Dalton's inability to throw an accurate deep ball, which wouldn't be a problem with Glennon at the helm. At the very minimum, Glennon would provide much-needed insurance for Dalton. One of Glennon's biggest weaknesses (playing in a muddy pocket) wouldn't be nearly as glaring if he played behind the Bengals' superb offensive line.

Cleveland Browns: Reunite with Josh McCown? Hey, why not? I preferred Glennon to McCown in Tampa for a whole host of reasons, including the fact that he's 10 years younger. As is the case with most of the teams listed here, Glennon has the arm strength to handle the rough conditions at his new home, and the Browns' offensive line would be a huge upgrade over what he played behind in Tampa. With Johnny Manziel still in the picture, there's quite a bit of unknown floating around Cleveland. Maybe he plays great and fulfills his potential, but it's worth noting that Manziel's tape from his rookie season couldn't have been worse. If Cleveland were to trade for Glennon right now, I bet he would be the Browns' starter by midseason.

New York Giants: Eli Manning could be in store for a big year. He has a strong cast of receivers and will only get better in his second season playing in Ben McAdoo's offense. But the two-time Super Bowl champ's contract expires after this season and Manning will turn 35 shortly after the New Year. Glennon fits McAdoo's system quite well, and would benefit from a year sitting behind and learning from Manning. The prudent move in 2016, given the cost of a potential Manning extension, would be to let Manning walk and hand the reigns over to Glennon."

just gotta say it would be hilarious if Glennon replaced Sheli. won't happen, but that's yet another kick to poor PRiv
