UNC fans are bitching about 1 second left but...ref was signaling that forward progress was stopped and he didn’t get out of bounds. So the clock should’ve stopped with 1 second left to move the chains...but at that point there’s not enough time to snap the ball, right?

I’m sure I’d be pissed if this happened to State. But I don’t think it was that egregious, really.

Yeah go for two without no time outs and hope to score and beat them in regulation. Or, tie the game, and force them into overtime when oddly enough the holes have been outplaying and out coaching them the whole game. Oh yeah, plus they're at home with a pumped up fan base that's ecstatic that they're in OT with the #1 team in the nation.

Clemson could've easily gotten into FG range and beaten them in regulation. Maybe not, but overtime wasn't some guarantee.

^ I get it, but I was judging by the context of the game. The UNC defense had been good in suppressing the firepower of Clemson offense for most of the game. With close to a minute left it's not like Clemson had all of the time in the world. The smart strategy would of been to tie the game and rely on your defense to get you into OT.

1:17 in the game with 2 timeouts left is time for Trevor Lawrence to get you in FG range though, especially with clock stoppages after 1st downs. I guess it's just a difference in coaching philosophy and not necessarily one wrong or right answer. But fuck the Holes.
