dunno how anyone can read 3 books at once...
i'm still on Chabon's The Yiddish Policemen's Union...it's pretty fucking awesome so far through about 160 pages.
I think I'm gonna read Absurdistan by Gary someone (his last name fails me right now). It'll do me well to read two funny books consecutively.
Before this I had read Tolstoy's Resurrection and Camus' The Stranger.
I need some laffs.

I read so much faster when I'm switching between different texts. It's almost always in sets of 3, and I finish all around the same time. I can't explain why it works so well for me (& others); I would've agreed with you a few years ago. 7/12/2007 10:20:27 PM |

Currently working on At War, At Sea by Ronald Spector. Single-volume history of naval warfare in the 20th century, a little dense but good stuff overall. Next up I want to go down the Dune novels path, having re-read Dune itself recently.
I liked Baudolino by Eco quite a bit, to add my .02 to the question posed on page 5. Not as good as Name of the Rose, but a good book in its own right. 7/13/2007 6:30:38 PM |

I finally got back to reading Baudolino after a long hiatus, and I'm loving it. Doesn't seem as strong as Name of the Rose, I'd agree, but it's a great story.
Anyone ever read Island of the Day Before? That might be next on my list.7/14/2007 1:01:51 PM |

I need to stop buying books.
I just bought Underworld (DeLillo) and Nausea (Sartre), and I'm tempted to switch out Against the Day again. I'll most likely just add them to the queue. 7/18/2007 12:44:09 AM |

Up until about 15 minutes ago I was reading The Deathly Hallows and I am wondering how long I should wait before beginning to read Watership Down.
I am entering a reading > playing video games phase. Not sure if I should be scared or not.
