Some while back I suggested an across-the-board and formulaic approach to suspend trolls in an incremental fashion, regardless of their position or stance on any issue, or lack thereof.

in the "New York Times" incident, I would have suspended both Hooksaw and Santa for one day (or whatever daily increment they had worked up to at that point)

The trolling on both sides was equal. Santa's was more subtle, and Hooksaw was more blatant, but Hooksaw was at least equally responsible... It wouldn't matter that it's "his" thread. both of them went back-and-forth for 3+ rounds of personal attacks.

While I appreciate Duke's moderation style, I think he is somewhat lacking in time and/or interest to fully apply the incremental suspension policy as I conceived it.
