The AB exploit is known as bubblecapping. It is when a Pally can capture uncaptured flags while inside a divine shield. It's pretty lame.

is the character i create gone ? Can they transfer to a full account? Can it be transfered to a friends retail account?

you create an account that has the serial # tied to it. After 10 days, that serial # expires and you can obviously no longer play the character. You can't transfer him to a friend's account (even before the 10 days are up). If you buy the game after the trial, you basically tie the new serial # to your already created account and can contine playing your created character.

The exploit with the Nefarius event was you could stand on one of the rocks on the balcony where you fight him and exploit stage1. Stage1 is where a massive zerg of elites charge you similar to the Razorgore fight. You could instead pull them slowly at a pace you could handle and get to stage2 where he goes into dragon form.

Yesterday there was another big exploit with Zul'Gurub faction. You could bug one of the initial starting quests to be repeatable and go from Neutral faction to max Exalted in about 40 minutes. Well the exploit part of the rock idea was that it evade bugged mobs who came close to you and tried to attack you. If you left them alone they would reset later but you could still pull mobs farther away and kill them normally.
