it looks like Tara Reade lied about her undergraduate degree and this might get some other convictions thrown out in cases where she testified as an expert

and her "protected program" of study for domestic violence victims didn't exist?

somebody paint me a picture of why this woman would want to go to these lengths to tar and feather a man she's been publicly praising for decades.

I mean, let's ignore the Biden accusation for a second, why would someone lie about their credentials under oath? You're either helping an innocent person get convicted or jeopardizing the welfare of the victim by making it easier for a verdict to be overturned.

Only a sick individual who was truly narcissistic would do that.

She is mentally ill and she could blame it on being abused. The only way to circumvent what appears to be a catch-22 is to go after those corroborating the event. Once it deteriorates into a simple 'he said / she said' then it will be overshadowed by his VP pick and eventually go away.

Especially as the states reopening news gets really good or really bad.

I must have missed one thing though... why did she change her name?

So is there any chance this gets investigated by any entity besides the media? I assume there is no mechanism for her to sit in front of Congress, Blasey-Ford style (and she shouldn't because it would be horrible).

The reporting now at least seems very good... if a little late. Overall I think Biden can safely go back to business as usual. Telling black people if they don't vote for him they ain't black, for instance.

2016 was essentially the battle of who was out of the news last. Trump’s stupidity and nonsense was overshadowed the last month by Comey and the FBI. It’s obvious that is what caused the polls to tighten.

Trump can’t hide as president. Biden can as a private citizen.

^ I follow Biden on all social media and they do a very mediocre job. Better than Hillary but that’s not saying much. Trumps 2016 campaign was very social media heavy and this plays to their advantage during coronavirus.

A good example is Biden did a live meeting with someone, posting a link on Facebook to YouTube, but it was a dead link. Somehow the YouTube link was set to disallow embed which breaks it on Facebook. Really embarrassing. Meanwhile back in 2016 I was somehow getting push notifications through Facebook when a trump rally went live. If Biden is doing a live stream, his team needs to be pushing it directly to each individual platform. This isn’t hard. It seems whoever is in charge of this is just lazy or incompetent.

Biden was recently posting pictures of his tweets on Facebook, no link to the tweet, or not even just copying and pasting the text. There’s a lot of little things they do wrong from a ux standpoint that trump's team does right. WaPo even had an evaluation of the mobile apps each campaign has and trumps came out on top. They are ready to mobilize voters and I don’t think Biden’s people have their head in the game for what this should look like with coronavirus.

Social media can help at the fringes. That’s it.

You’d think Bernie’s 2020 primary would hammer that point home. Tbh, the best move Biden’s campaign has ever done is ignore the extremely online. Yeah, people like me are extremely online might not get it at time... but I’m not the median voter.

Trump in 2016 put up some very impressive small donor numbers that came through digital. A lot of this is based on extremely disingenuous marketing, but you can’t deny they’re getting outcomes. When coronavirus is going to limit rallies and canvassing efforts, you have to be creative and I don’t see Biden’s team doing this.

CNN showed an empty podium for hours at a time waiting for Trump campaign events. Have they even taken one of Biden’s dumb basement events live? I don’t know? Earl, you consume more CNN than anyone on the face of the earth? Have they?

Yes and no. They're amplifying his gaffes, but everything else he does gets minimal coverage. With Trump in 2016, they'd literally just air his rally. He got roughly 2-5 Billion in free media exposure, which is insane

I have zero problems with someone wanting to boycott Israel. The BDS movement is disorganized with too many groups 'leading' it, as stated in my previous post, some of those groups are using it as a thin veneer to support Antisemitism and to encourage violence against civilian populations.

I have zero problems with people being critical of Israeli policies, because god knows they deserve it.

I am vehemently opposed to annexation, but don't think now is the time for Biden to whipping votes on it. I'd rather see the situation play out with Gantz who made a key veto a few months ago.

I do think the comparison to BLM is laughable. I'm not going to defend the harsh actions of the Israeli military, but I'm also not going to defend the shooting rockets at civilian targets.

Apparently reade lied about an undergrad degree but did actually graduate law school. California is now reviewing her work as an expert witness for domestic violence cases to see if she might have lied under oath

I wonder what exactly makes her undergrad questionable? Did she drop out? Did she have weird substitutions?

Didn't she have some story about the Dean or whatever letting her graduate? That would indicate the latter and they wanted to get rid of her.

Not to rehash a story, since moron is usually a week late in posting things.

She attended for 3 semesters, took 31 hours. She claims she had an arrangement with the Dean to graduate by showing she did course work. The University denies all of this.

"After questions about her testimony surfaced, Reade provided the New York Times with a screenshot of a school transcript from Antioch University, which showed her department as “BA Completion” but left blank the “date conferred” and “degree conferred.” She told the Times that, to help protect her new identity from her allegedly abusive ex-husband, the school’s then-president, Tullise Murdock, helped secretly bestow a “fast-tracked” degree upon her.

But Hamilton, the Antioch spokeswoman, told the Times that Murdock denied any such arrangement."

It's far more likely that the school is missing records of the arrangement than it is for Seattle University to have admitted Reade to law school without an undergraduate degree.

And this is entirely irrelevant either way. It's what Fox News does every time a black man is murdered by the police. "He was arrested one time so he's obviously a pathological criminal and liar"

It's fucking gross and you're fucking gross for focusing on these character smears rather than the rape accusation.

Dave, there is not a single record or witness that can backup what she claims. They asked the dean if he ever made such an arrangement, he said no.

Unofficial transcripts are jokes, just word docs that can be manipulated. Hence 'unofficial'

Ah yeah I guess if it can be proved she lied about her undergraduate degree, that means she also lied about being raped.

Weird how the rape victim is being held to a higher standard than the rapist.

I mean, I agree with behe a helluva lot more often than I do dave, but it's a damn fact this sort of handshake deal regarding graduation happens all the time at colleges.

Someone could have easily not submitted the required paperwork after said deal was made, no reflection at all on the student, and it makes the school look bad for handing out degrees (so of course they deny if no trail exists).

Because it 100% happens and is 100% flimsy it's absolutely no reason to dismiss something as serious as rape.

Dave is also right regarding graduate school. One phonecall to confirm the process is working to get her a degree, they accept her, the first school fucks up, but then nobody cares until years later. Also a common occurrence*

Her graduate degree does not certify she had an undergrad. Mistakes could have been made, she could have lied about it, etc. There is no evidence to support she obtained her undergraduate degree.

She lied about these credentials under oath, her testimony as an 'expert' witness was lauded as instrumental to getting people convicted. So she either lied and got innocent people thrown in jail or lied and made it easier for guilty people to get out of jail on appeals.

first of all, this is a fair point. the right typically trashes any whistleblower or accuser or victim in order to divert focus. so it's a great thing for them to be able to accuse the left of doing so.

second, i may be off, but was there rape accusation? i thought the accusation was that he digitally penetrated her in a hallway. is this classified as rape (as far as legal terms)?

i have been ignoring her because a) her name is tara reade for crying out loud and b)she's accusing biden of something the current president has admitted to doing. this country has allowed grabbing a woman by the pussy to be normalized. so, while i doubt any of this even happened, if it did, biden is composing himself like a president.

Plausible deniability. She might have assumed the school, based on whatever deal, was completing paperwork I mentioned to get her a degree. She might have assumed this actually happened if she got into law school and then never gave it a second thought, including when she was on the stand.

I'm going way out on a limb here... I am not voting for Trump... but this scenario is plausible and we are talking about rape.

Jesus Christ, this is getting tiresome, but I don't know what her claims are about the bar exam so you can educate me on that one.

Oftentimes a LOSER will get a job that seems important to them and brag about it. Also not a reason to let powerful men put their fingers in you.
