After almost a year of playing, I'm hanging up my hat and saying goodbye. It's been an amazing experience playing this game. On the flipside, it's been straightup shocking to sit and think about all the hours I've spent glued to this computer playing a video game when I could have been using that time to do so much more. Saying this game is as addicting and dangerous as crack is probably not far from the mark.

Alas, for my own sake I've closed the account and I'm moving on. Hopefully away from the computer and the desk.

oh yea definitely. thats where i just was. there are more too. look on the wanted sign in town and a few ppl have a second quest etc. i think i ended up with like 11 quests there or something haha
i still have the elite ones left to do.

but its great XP. id go with one other person if you could tho, it can be a pain especially with allies

Few friends and I started a guild on our server, Doomhammers Elite.

If anyone is on Gilneas they are welcome to join, but dont expect any big raids or Rag/Ony etc. its pretty laid back and will take time to get enough 60s to go on good raid parties.

I saw the greatest ploy today in the Gurubashi Server. I have a level 22 warlock and I was leaving Crossroads in the Barrens. As most horde players can tell you, Crossroads is surrounded by these emu looking critters called plainstriders. Well, a high level NE hunter had camped out near the Barrens and was poaching for players to gank. He had a plainstrider as a pet and would sit there shadowmelded until someone who wasn't paying attention, like me, attacked his pet thinking it was a randon mob and PVP flagging themselves. He would then apprear behind you and knife you in the back. I thought that it was a cheap trick at first, but I have to give it up to the strategy behind it.

^^^ It's a PVP server. He nets HKs while annoying the fuck out of horde player on their own terf. Granted, he'd get more honor in the longrun on the battlegrounds, but every war has to have its gorilla fighters.

you don't get an honor kill unless the player you kill is at least green to you. if the player was high level (as in 50-60 and not 27 comparing to your 22) then he wouldn't be getting anything except a sick pleasure from baiting noobs. i'd do it, sounds like fun.

Ive just hit 32 and after getting berserker rage i respeced and now have

2/5 Deflection
3/3 Imp Rend
5/5 Tactical Mastery
1/1 Anger Management
1/2 Imp Rush

Fury

5/5 Cruelty
5/5 Imp Dem. Shout
1/1 Piercing Howl

1) Im not sure where i should go from here. People are telling me to get MS at 40 (and respec for a third time) but id have to drop the 11 fury that i love for PvP. Im also not sure if i should have goten 2/3 Imp Heroic rather than 2/5 Deflection. Im just wanting a good solid buld before I have to respec to become a model "tank" which im still not sure on how to do.


2) Next question is about how you go about an attack. My current way is rush, dem. shout, berserker stance, rage, sunder a few times, battle stance, might throw in a Heroic (overpower when i can) and Execute. Is this a good way to go about an attack? Any better way?


3) Next question is about managing agro in defensive stance. How do i do it? With no points in Protection whats the best way to keep everything on me? Im running Gnomer a lot so i need to get this concept down pat.

well, I just quit EvE Online and was thinking about picking up WoW. How hard would it be for a new player to jump into the game? Which server should I get on, keeping in mind I would like to get into a guild pretty soon and start building a char for gang support. Ive always played as an offensive magic user in rpgs, so what class would be best suited for that? also, do most guilds use Teamspeak or another form of VoIP? thanks for any advice

^^ Sorry I don't know enough about warriors to offer any help.

^It is very easy to start in WoW even 1 year into the game and still be able to get into a top 5 PVP/PVE guild on your server. Pretty much all guilds are either going to use Teamspeak or Ventrilo.

As far as servers to roll on I would recommend making a char on the most recent server. I am not sure what that is but I am sure you could search and find it fairly easily. There are servers that are probably only 2-3 weeks old. I know for sure that all of the RP-PVP servers are only about a month old so if you want to roleplay any of those would be a good choice.

If you are interested in playing with people from NCSU, a lot of people are on Mal'Ganis horde side. It is a PVP server.

Offensive Magic Classes:

Mage
-can conjure food/drink to restore hp/mp
-glass cannon

Warlock
-support role: group hp buff, can conjure hp pot
-has 3 different pets for crowd control and buffs

Shaman
-Powerful melee/magic attacks
-Expected to mainly heal in end game PVE

Shadow Priest
-smaller damage output than mage/warlock but can heal to offset
-PVP only, no one wants them for PVE

I would recommend trying a warlock or a mage. They are both very fun to play and have a lot of options for how you spec them to fight. Both are in high demand from even top guilds so you won't have problems finding a group or a guild.

You forgot sick AoE spells. I think they can also out-nuke mages. Just no instant spells that are reliable.

I can't count the number of times that there have been 2-3 tanks on a boss with 2 hunters attacking also and I somehow still manage to aggro him.

Nah it isn't. Shit I stopped playing like 2 months ago. I wanna play, but truth be told, it was kinda getting boring to me. I think I'm gonna hang it up for a few months and maybe after Christmas when I have burned up some other games, then I'll get a hankering for WoW again.

Its just that I don't have much time to devote to a game like this, what with working 50+ hours a week, working a half hour away from home, and then coming home to a wife and 2 year old son. Its hard to devote time to something that take a lot of time such as this, unfortunately.

Mages utterly destroy them in damage output. Ive never seen a warlock put out anywhere near as much damage as me, or any other mage on any raid ive been on.

I dont do PvP with my warrior yet so I cant answer any good specs on that.

When I solo, for right now at least (lvl 46) I pretty much stay in battle stance. I rush, demoralize(then battleshout if its not already on), bloodlust, sunder as much as I can(up to 5 times). If the thing is 2 or 3 levels above me then I will be able to get in a thunderstrike to slow their attack speed. When their life gets towards 25% i save my rage up for an execute.

I am ALWAYS on the lookout for a dodge so I can overpower. It costs little rage and is like getting an extra hit in.

My guy is 100% tank so I dont use berserker stance, nor do i have any talents in the arms tree. I dont group much so I havent use defensive stance a lot but it is definately the key to keeping aggro on you. You take less damage and have things like taunt and shield wall at your disposal.

Though honestly, in battle stance you have a lot of ways to keep aggro. You have Demoralizing shout, mocking blow, sunder armor, shield bash, and challenging shout to increase your aggro and save some softies that have pissed off one too many monsters.
