had the most worthless QA guy ever for the past three weeks. He got switched off and now I have the most anal retentive QA guy ever. He's already found more bugs in one day than the other loser found in 3 weeks. Thankfully, all the bugs are on the server team. FUCK YEAH

just accidentally clicked the wrong printer and sent a 30 page document to the printer in the plant manager's office.

i'm not going to walk all the way there, it's hot outside. so i printed off a word document with a "sorry i selected the wrong printer" note written on it.

we'll see if i hear about this one.

All the actual bugs that he's found so far have been server side. our shit hasn't changed in over a month. there's some gaps, but those aint bugs.

Newest bug is a problem with IE not my code. It caches shit it shouldn't.
I'm now forcing a timestamp in miliseconds to be added as a query string param so the damn ajax won't cache.

Two managers share an office across from my cube, and every single time this one is alone in the office, he plays the most God awful mix of music. He blasts it too

Hahaha, our office installed motion sensors to save energy in our lounge and lobby areas by turning them off after a few minutes if jo one trips it. Then the geniuses thought the bathrooms would be a great idea to do as well. Sucks for them the first day they installed them, the president of our company decided to take a crap and experienced that joy. They removed them the next day.

Actually bathrooms are a great place to put them as long as you don't make the timer too short. It's pretty standard practice in a lot of office buildings now. The key is to either:

1) Make the timer fairly long

OR (the better route)

2) Keep the room ON during regular business hours set by a schedule in the control system and then turn it to AUTO based on the motion sensor in the off-hours

mine: weeks ago, a PM went to jobsite awaiting advice from me that he had requested. I provide a part size and even a few locations where to buy it. He completes installation, and we still aren't hitting our target machine performance.

Today I revisit the issue, working toward new solution with same PM. I printed the email I had sent previously with the part # listed and show it to him - "this is the sheave you bought, yes?".... no. so, we are making a return trip and spending a few thou' extra on our dime because dude didnt take the information I provided AT HIS REQUEST and buy the correct $50 part.

Our bathrooms are the only rooms with motion sensor lights. I think the time is set for ~5 minutes or so. I don't think anyone here has ever had a problem. But, the motion sensor only picks up if the door opens, so even if you jump around in the bathroom, you'd be SOL unless you opened the door.
