Got this bad boy a month ago.

If a scrub like Eli Manning can go from scrub to 2 time Superbowl MVP scrub after 1 citizen commercial, I gotta go for it.

Had to get it. For $220 it was too hard to pass up. Eco Drive, Atomic Radio, Perpetual Calendar, and Sapphire Crystal.

I want another Citizen already. The AT feature is pretty awesome. It syncs great every morning even inside my apartment and is accurate within a second of the atomic clock in Colorado.

wow this is gorgeous... and CHEAP. never seen a citizen like this before. it would look way better with a dark brown (or black) leather belt, though.

use "MP43F" for a further 5% off the $279 price (msrp is $549). (just for another 5 days or so)

btw, can you see the date on it? i can't. it has month and day, but no date? no one forgets what month it is, and almost no one forgets what day it is, but many people have trouble remembering the date... so where is the date?

Aww crap yeah

For some reason I thought that was a 24 hr dial, as the description said something to that effect and I didn't pay attention to it to see what the max number on it was.

Anyway, gorgeous watch.... Looks Swiss. Love the moon phase.

just got this for wife's birthday... 7 months early (does picture at bottom show?)

question: our anniversary is 2 days after her birthday... can it count as gift for both, or do i need to get another gift for anniversary? haha, actually, i am looking for a good self-winding automatic for her, which i will give her on our anniversary.

any recommendations for a good women's automatic in for under $400?

no brand in mind, but i guess in that price range, i am looking at:

seiko
bulova
orient

sector?
festina?
tissot?

I am looking to replace my Tag Professional with something thin. I like the Tag but I don't wear it as much as I should and really want something thinner and lighter.

Any suggestions? Trying to keep the price to around $600 or less and bonus points for a harder crystal that will not scratch.

I'm looking to buy a graduation present for myself. My tastes generally run to the smaller classic designs.

Must be an automatic.

I already have a sinn 556, hamilton khaki auto, and a new release hamilton thinomatic (silver face), and some vintage watches (60's omega seastar, and a generic late 50's hamilton).

Thoughts?

I actually came across that myself and thought it looked like a solid choice. The only thing I would change to make me get it right away is have a calendar (just the day of the month) but that would take away from the look.

Nice watch.

Alright which one of you ended a review with this:

Quote :
"And so I wore this watch on my wrist and everything began to go black. I slipped away into the droning swirl of time itself. I became nothing but black. Darkness incarnate. Warmed by brushed steel in deep midnight heart of darkness black, taking my body heat and giving me back just a little in return.

I had to come back to write this review. Just to let you know of the special secret gift this watch bestows. I wish I could describe it in more detail, but words fail me. You must own it to know it... And now, I put it back on and fade . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . into nothingness."

Retail is supposedly $2,000 according to the website I got it from. On website for $270.

Also available with other dial colors: silver, ivory, orange, red.

Ivory was sold out. Silver was gorgeous, but overall a bit plain as the band and case are also silver. Red was not good. It was a tie between yellow and orange, chose yellow. What I really wanted was the one with the same yellow dial but black leather... now that is utterly gorgeous, but it was sold out (pic below)... but the steel one is more utilitarian. Ideally, the steel should be black or gunmetal grey to contrast with the yellow dial. Anyway....

From a Middle East based site that sells designer goods (from the cheap to the expensive and in between). The discounts are usually 25% to around 50-60%. They are having a clearance sale now, so a lot of items are discounted all the way to 80-90%.

Salvatore Ferragamo... it is an Italian luxury goods company, on the same level as Cerruti, Dior, YSL, D&G, etc.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Salvatore_Ferragamo_Italia_S.p.A.

They make a black one as well, and that looks hot, I would say better than this bronze one. But the bronze color is quite unique. Will probably go for it. Just a bit hesitant cuz I just spent $270 on that Lambo up.

So, my fiance and I are planning on getting watches for our wedding presents to each other. We're looking to keep it somewhere in the $150-$250 range. I've read a little back through the thread and picked up a few useful things but still feel like I'm not prepared to venture into the world of watches without looking at some in person first. We're probably going to stick with a brand like Seiko, Victorinox, or Citizen. I'd like to have something with a sapphire crystal for the scratch resistance. Is this too much to ask to find at a local brick-and-mortar store like Bailey's (as far as cost, not selection) or will I need to go online to buy them? Here's a few I'd been looking at for myself, she likes similar styles.

Victorinox is great for the money. I picked up this Citizen a few months ago:

http://forums.watchuseek.com/f305/video-review-citizen-eco-drive-world-perpetual-t-638460.html

I'm pretty sure it's still $220 at Cosco.

Here it is on Amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/Citizen-CB0010-53L-Eco-Drive-World-Perpetual/dp/B0045TI4HI/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

$371 on Amazon.

It's awesome. Sapphire Crystal. Eco-drive. Perpetual calendar AND it's radio controlled so you never have to set it. Pretty sweet if you want a budget nerdy but still flashy watch.

Darb5000, definitely buy online, but make sure you get a warranty. go to a store and look and if you like something, buy it online. of course, aside from being cheaper, online gives you at least 100x the variety.

if you are willing to spend up to $250, you might as well get automatics for the coolness/purity factor.

automatics by

orient (some of the best automatics ever)
seiko
bulova
citizen
festina
emporio armani
hamilton
tissot
wenger
victorinox
swiss military calibre
swiss military hanowa

can all be had for $250. actually, for the swiss brands you might have to go to $300.

One rule to make with watches (or any other thing your spending real money on). Don't buy it unless you really like it. Don't buy it because its on sale or a good deal.

Especially with the crazy pricing some of the watch brands do now a days (invicta et cetera)

I still can't wrap my head around why you'd buy 12 pieces, on off-brand websites, rather than one amazing piece that you wear every day.
