Cam was getting all kinds of coverage before and during the beginning of the season. It wasn't to this extent but ...
I want to see what that new NBC sports network is gonna do. They are advertising like they are actually going to cover sports like hockey and tennis but I bet their first day will be all about Tebow whenever it launches. 12/13/2011 11:43:26 AM |

If Tim Tebow can work on Sunday, Chick-Fil-A can be open on sundays. Tebow needs to use his god powers to write a letter to chick-fil-a and let them know they if they were open on sundays, they could donate even more money to hate groups and I could have my chicken. 12/15/2011 10:04:12 AM |

I bet in a couple hundred years, there will be a new religion worshiping him. Like christianity spread after Christ.
In all seriousness though, I can see him being a decent senator or something after his football career is over. 12/15/2011 10:09:29 AM |

Well, pundits were kinda going apeshit over Cam Newton's performance before it became apparent that no matter how well he played he couldn't make up for the rest of the Panthers.
And before the season started they were going apeshit over Vick's resurgence on the Eagles before it became apparent that free agency caused some of their players to lose their brains.
Tebow's leading a Denver team into a late-season resurgence that will likely land them in the playoffs. His playing style is unorthodox compared to a normal NFL QB so that gives pundits something to talk about. He puts his personal beliefs out there for everyone to see whether they agree or not so that gives people something to talk about.
Seriously, the only thing he isn't doing to have pundits talking about him is dating Jessica Simpson.

let me connect the dots for you, then...
for disco: I am saying that disco, himself, and in this statement, only disco, himself, thinks that his god his better than someone else's. That would not, in any way, be the same as what disco accused me of saying, which is that all atheists think their god is better than someone else's. There is a distinct difference between "disco_stu" and "all". Do I need to draw some Venn Diagrams for you?
for you: You said that Tebow should stop all the "pageantry" and the other people would stop making fun of him. "Pageantry" which consists of saying a prayer on the sidelines after a TD and mentioning God in press conferences. "Pageantry" which, essentially, is just Tebow being himself and following his beliefs in what amounts to an insignificant manner. I then said that if gay guys would just stop being gay, then people would stop making fun of them. Are the dots now thoroughly connected for you? 12/16/2011 2:09:51 PM |

even if I granted that distinction, I'd say it wouldn't matter. Dude said someone should change his own beliefs/self that weren't harming anyone else in order to make someone else stop attacking him. think about that.
^^ and you've missed the countless times where we've asked you to show how he goes above and beyond what others do and then you don't respond. Dude says a prayer on the sidelines away from endzone after a TD, while countless others have taken a knee in the endzone and then pointed to the sky, and that's supposed to be a billion times worse? why is it hard to understand that tebow goes above and beyond others? because you aren't showing or saying HOW he does it. And the only examples you DO bring up are easily eclipsed by other players, hell, current players.12/16/2011 3:45:11 PM |

that's pre-fucking-cisely what you said. "If he stopped the pageantry, they would stop [attacking him and making fun of him]." You can't and haven't shown that his "pageantry" is anything more than sincere expressions of his beliefs in fairly modest ways, so the end result is you saying that Tebow should stop being himself and stop expressing his beliefs. Ergo, it's perfectly identical to saying that if a gay guy just stops being gay, then people will stop attacking him12/16/2011 3:51:45 PM |

Yes, I said that. I did not say he "should just his belief". I said "stop the pageantry". Not "change his beliefs". Stop the pageantry. Not change his beliefs. You can be a christian and not tell the world how much of a christian you are at every oppurtunity you get.
V I made the Liberace comment to try to make you understand. Fail. For some reason, you can't see that Tebow does, in fact, make it a point to profess his religion moreso than most any other sports player.

or Christians talking about being Christians
both are equally dumb
and people saying Tebow should read Matthew 6 need to learn how to read in context
ha, you don't even need to read context. just read ^ that verse. Jesus was addressing hypocrisy and pride. I would like to see the evidence for Tebow's hypocrisy and self-centered pride.

LOL context...cold comfort...so things that align with your world view are correct context, things that don't correspond are out of context.
The weakest argument of all time is context.
The hypocrisy and self-centered pride is that Tebow believes that god is helping him, that the "god: who created the cosmos has decided to help Tebow win and in the same breath is allowing children to die. That is the height of pride.
