I'm going to stop arguing about this because you just don't get it. You're saying that they planned for cap space in 2016 by signing curry to $12 million a year in 2012. You don't get that basically every team had a chance at kd because the cap jumped up.6/9/2017 9:53:20 PM |

Its becoming obvious to me that the nba is fixed. The officiating has totally changed since the first two games. They tried desperately to give the cavs game 3 as well, but the warriors pulled out a miracle run in the last couple of minutes. 6/9/2017 10:28:32 PM |

Sucks this series isn't 2-2 right now. Fucking Love and Kyrie couldn't hit a damn three in game 3 to save their lives. This series would be so awesome if it was tied up right now.
Not going to happen, but it would be amazing if this came back to Cleveland at 3-2.

The game is being played at such an insanely high level these days.
I'd estimate with complete confidence that roughly 80% of the guys in the league in 1992 couldn't even make a roster today. The talent explosion has just been that insane. 6/10/2017 1:39:07 PM |

Not really, no. That game yesterday was quite possibly the most atrocious game I've seen in years. If the rest of the series is going to be nothing but timeouts to review whether every time contact occurs is a foul or not, I'd rather not watch. That was some pussy ass NBA 2k shit, and the officiating was horrible on both sides of the ball all game long.
I'll absolutely give credit to the Cavs for utilizing their timeouts so effectively, because every single time GS would start to put a bit of a run together, they'd call one and then they'd fire up a three. But holy fuck, I wanted to gauge my eyes out while I was watching it.

I mean it's incredible how many 3s Cleveland made, but otherwise I'm not seeing how that was an entertaining game given how much stoppage of play there was.

Can we talk about this for a sec? I'm probably in the wrong here because:
(1) I don't follow the NBA as much as most of the people on this thread (2) They have been to 3 straight finals and won one anyway (3) I don't watch Wiggins play that much outside of when he's on national TV and I occasionally catch him
But I don't think Love is a better fit for two reasons:
1. Wiggins on his rookie deal fill their wing rotation out better than one of JR/Iman on their vet contracts 2. Cavs have a tough time playing both Love and TT at the same time when Cavs go small ball with Dray/Durant at the 5
At the time I can't hate them for it because they were in win now mode and GSW was still running David Lee at the 4 and wasn't who they are now. Hindsight is 20/20 but is it really that clear cut?
Again, I'm an idiot who doesn't follow much NBA outside of the headline teams so I could be wrong. 6/10/2017 8:47:39 PM |

Love/Thompson is a poor matchup vs love/thompson. I noted this in the offseason as to why golden state would rip through everyone including cleveland.
But durant wasn't on the warriors at the time of their trade. Heck tsmallball with barnes/iggy/green wasnt even a thing yet. Bogut /Lee frontcourt was still around and no one even knew the warriors were a contender.
Wiggins is one of the absolute worst defender in the league

Sorry your team lost....but that game was just as good as the first two blowouts. You saw one team play amazing basketball. Kryrie was nuts...Lebron was Lebron. Even Durant was really good again. Refs struggled, but it didn't affect the outcome of the game, so people just need to calm down.
Again...it's unfortunate that it's not 2-2 right now. This could have been an amazing series.6/11/2017 7:13:13 AM |

^^It still can be an amazing series. Never underestimate how shitty Steve Kerr is as a coach. The Cavs are one win away from sending this thing back to Cleveland where they would tie it up at home and we all know what will happen in the pressure of a game 7. Yeah i pulled point 1 from his pod but 2 is pretty well known if you're a casual fan (which I consider myself). I don't watch enough NBA to have original thoughts. TBF I probably should have sourced that.
There's a part of me that thinks the "pressure" would get to GSW if they somehow manage to lose tonight. I don't think they're going to. Cavs had to have a historic half to win game 4 + foul trouble. I don't see that happening again. HOWEVER, if they do lose, the atmosphere in Cleveland for game 6 would be nuts and they would have had a week to listen to how they are living last year all over again.
... but I don't think that happens. I think GSW win tonight. 6/12/2017 12:31:17 PM |

The Cavs go as Kyrie, Lebron and Love go..in that order.
Kyrie is the hardest PG to guard one on one in the NBA, Curry gets exposed on defense quite easily.
I think the Cavs are finally moving back to their style of play last year in the finals where they would isolate either Kyrie or Lebron on Curry and have him try and guard those two with screen and switches.
If they can continue to isolate Curry and make him play defense it disrupts GS.
If Kyrie has a big game, they win...Lebron gonna get his no matter what. 6/12/2017 1:16:31 PM |
justinh524 Sprots Talk Mod 27836 Posts user info edit post |
they still need a third guy to have a big game to have a chance.
40 each from Kyrie and LeBron still doesn't make a game of it.
And Kyrie might be the best PG in isolation, but he's also at the bottom of the list on the other end of the floor (and much worse than Curry I might add.) Kinda takes away from his impact on the game as a whole.
But hey, LeBron is right, he'll be a beast in the 3 on 3 Olympics! 6/12/2017 3:40:36 PM |

Kerr is an awful coach. ("BUT HE WINS") The team is the most talented team of all time so his record it padded. Notice how everytime he goes out, they go on a historic streak. Mike Brown and Luke Walton aren't all that great. He won the finals with Gentry calling most of the shots. Losing the finals last year was a historic coaching blunder. Credit for their initial chemistry all goes to Mark Jackson. Giving up 137 points in a game was a historic refusal to make an adjustment. At what point do you take the ball out of a guy's hands? Kerr could have easily given up 160 and never would have made an adjustment. Crazy!
