If you think about it, Chloe is almost exactly what Lois would've been like in her high school days, minus the blonde hair. She's involved in the school newspaper, she believes in things other people dont want to believe and she's pretty good at figuring things out and getting to the bottom of the story. I've never really thought about that til now.

^some girl shows up saying she's there to take him "home"and claims she's Kryptonian. its kara, who in the comics becomes Supergirl. Clark agrees to testify against Lionel cuz he saw Lionel press on with the procedure to fry Lex's brain and can use that against him. Lionel says he's terminally ill and theres no cure and I believe Lex finds out that it's true. Lionel, while in jail, sends the key to Lex's secret room to Clark who goes in and finds out that Lex is still obsessed and investigating him and they confront each other and Clark no longer wants to be friends with him. Lana leaves to the airport, which Clark was supposed to send her but didnt and when he shows up there, he sees her and Lex hugging. He drops a white rose which she picks up after running after him but he disappeared on her. Clark then agrees to go with Kara back "home", which is a portal through a hole in the wall of the caves but turns out it was Jor El's doing and he wanted Clark back. Chloe and Johnathan Kent find out that the girl was hit in the meteor showers and is only a pawn to lure Clark back to JorEl. Johnathan shows up to the caves to reveal this and JorEl then threatens to kill him unless Clark goes through the portal, which he does. Last scene is pretty confusing yet intriguing. They show Lionel being shaved bald and in the process it goes and shows Lex being poisoned through his drink and falling, Chloe going inside a mansion with federal agents and then the house exploding, Johnathan Kent just lying in the caves alone unconscious, and a huge fire symbol of I believe of JorEl outside the Kents home and Clark's mom looking at it.

kara turned out to be some chick the 'will' or 'essence' of jor-el's used to lure clark into the fissure in the cave. we never see lana depart, just at the airport.

Pretty sure his dad is dead because his home planet blew up. They've done a lot with Superman's Kryptonian heritage in the past few years, what with all the "False Krypton" nonsense and all, but none of that has really stuck with me. They seemed like cheap attempts to inject new life in a tired and unsympathetic character. You ask me, Superman is way past his prime and needs more than just another "reboot" to get his dignity back.
