went from driving cabs for a living to multitabling $2 mini mtts.

it's kinda wild what some people can pull off

i think ive all but give up playing online for a serious profit anymore.

i just dont have the patience...

after spending 60+ hrs a week behind a computer at work, i dont want to spend another 30+ when i get home grinding out a few bucks.

id rather wait to the weekend and play live, since i'm lucky enough to have some of the best action on the east coast an hour away.

ill rock an occasional sng, but i dont think i have it in me anymore to play constantly like i used to.

although the thought of rebuilding back to being comfortably rolled for multitabling mid-high limit omaha is enticing though.

I assume you've heard of shaundeeb (sp?). Same way for him he started on the stars 4/180 and is now rolling with Pearljammer and the like in the big MTTs. He FT'd 51 4/180s in a row (I think thats the number, but if not somewhere right around there). Anyways, he's a millionarie or damn close now.

I'd say it's impossible to maintain 20+ bb/100 at .01/.02 PLO. Play for fun or to work on reading your hands at lightning speed while multitabling, but you won't be able to see a decent(as in comparable to McDonalds) hourly rate until you get to .05/.10

I was playing in a $22 SNG on Full Tilt today and this happened:

I was in the big blind with 66. All 9 players are there with varying stacks. The blinds are 80/40. So everyone folds, then the guy on the button raises to 240. Small blind folds.

Do you guys think this is worthy of a reraise, a call, or a fold?

Anyway, I called. The flop was 10, K, 6. He raises me to all in and of course I call. He had QJ but never hits his straight.

After that he went on this long diatribe about how it was a stupid call and I either should of raised or folded. Did I play it right?

It all depends on how many chips you both started the hand with. Calling can be okay, but you have to have a backup plan for when you don't hit your set.

I would tend to fold in that position unless my stack was > ~ 2400. Of course it is very dependent upon the blinding structure (turbo or blinds every 10). With blinds every 10, i'd lay it down with stack < 2400.

**Also very dependent upon the raisers stack, obv (statement above is for similar stack sizes).

Oh yeh, I may try to make it out for some WSOP maybe 15th-17th. Doubt I will be donking away my money in an event though. I have heard that it's the best time to be in town for live games though, tends to be alot more dead money.

you ever played in a casino before?

any stakes you'll be playing will be filled with "dead money"


tournament times bringing extra fish into games only really applies to tough games (80/160+) where it often times ends up with a bunch of regular rocks butting heads all day long.

you wont notice a difference in play in 1/2, 2/5 or 5/10 no limit and like 20/40 lhe and below from any other weekend in terms of play levels, it's always sufficently bad... just longer lists.

That's odd, what i've read was that the lower limits were basically just filled with more idiots than usual, i'll send a link whenever I get back home.

But yeh i've played a decent amount of 2/5 on gambling boats with reasonable success. None in a real casino, another reason i'm a bit apprehensive do drop 1500 or 2000 on an actual event until I can get some more live time in AC this summer (probably be up in a few weeks for a nice 48 hour benge).

ive been around quite a few tournaments and havent noticed a difference. (wpt and wsop circuit... only AC however)

well maybe 1/2 gets a bit softer

there are too many internet winning players that flood 1/2 b/c they cant sack up to 2/5, so more players to more dispurse these cats wouldnt be a bad thing.


plus when you say more idiots than usual, then it's a good thing

i mean, i can manage a table with 5 morons and a few to avoid.

a table with 7 morons and 2 to avoid, not so much difference than just 5.

the ones you avoid are quiet and not involved in many hands anyways, as opposed to every hand with the morons... not much difference really

Been playing World Tavern for 3 weeks and I'm in the top 25 in the Raleigh region and top 5 in a Tavern. Won 4 tournaments placed 2nd in one and 3rd in 3 and top 10 in a few others. Thanks to whoever directed me there. Barring someone making an unherald comeback, I'll make regionals.
It's been more fun than anything cause the poker is really bad.
I've been playing online for a few years and I've come to the conclusion that the good to average online players are better than players who play live...especially fundamentaly. After reading some of the posts here, most of you guys would fare very well in world tavern

Hey Jim, remember the tournament at Turner's where we got down to heads-up and I had you outstacked by a ratio of about 50/1 and right before the first heads-up hand you said, "Greg, I'll chop with you right now?" We all laughed and then you won about 9 straight hands and went on to beat me.
