Re: Mickey D's

I was there that week it closed (96-ish). The employees said it was because the place was losing money in droves. Maybe that's just what management was telling them...

I don't see how. Mickey D's would be slammed between classes. Full of the young kids who don't appreciate the local businesses.

I'm guessing the pool table must have been in the back room."

Yeah, just had beer for the longest time.

The pool table was actually in the front room by the windows on the bar side - he took it out and put in an extended bar.

Did anyone ever go to MARS?!?!?!111 (Long Branch now maybe?)

What about the Crest Fest (on Crest Road?)

Yeah the City Limits place has been so many things I can't even remember (Have a Nice Day Cafe!111)

Mars was fun. A buddy of mine checked IDs at the door so I was 19 getting in as a 21 year old.

^^One night I went when it was Banana Joe's at the behest of some girls with us. IT SUCKED! Made me remember why I went to bars instead of "clubs." The only cool thing about that place was that you could leave and walk to Old Bar beneath Charlie Goodnights.

Haha I remember running promotions for Banana Joes.

How long was that place open? Or Have a Nice Day Cafe?

Milanos Pizza used to be where Farmhouse pizza is. I was addicted to their pizza despite the C rating and the fact he had bums off the street as servers. Think it closed down in 01. They put an inch thick of cheese on pizza, not like all the thin shit served up and down Hillsborough.

crack was def. put into the pizza at Milano's, b/c you would find my ass there every night after bars.

the pizza by the Farmhouse pales in comparison.

I remember when the movie theater in Mission Valley closed. Then they reopened in the current incarnation, and now sell beer.

I thought it closed for renovations at first but then when it reopened, I didn't notice any. Has anyone been to Blue Ridge now that it reopened? Did they fix that place up?

place over at goodnights has been lots of stuff. Was "the New Bar" back in the day, I think that was 2 before have a nice day.

I used to like the arcade that was at the electric company mall. (I think it is a tattoo or comics store now). ACC Tavern was fun too. Anyone remember the "wall dances"? man, you used to see more ass than a strip club up there.

Same here. They had good magnets too. I was so disappointed when they went out of business.

I don't remember ever seeing McDonalds empty/light crowd. Maybe they didn't have enough seats for the footprint they were taking up. Maybe the breakfast sales were terrible?

I used to love colorados. Except for thier fake ass Kamakazee shots.

I met my fiance at Colorados on St. Patricks day '99.

It just blows my mind that fucking bars cannot stay open on Hillsborough st. I hate downtown bars.
