^^have you done martinis and imax? i enjoy doing that every so often

you could always preface dinner with something like the Louvre @ High Museum

or you could go to the drive-in....with good weather it's fun

if the weather is good, going to the fernbank observatory can be fun if the partner is up for something like that

if you've never been to the stone mountain laser show, it's one of those things you have to do here...i for one, thought it was trashy and embarrassing, but you have to go at some point

i always keep my eye on what's going on at the fox theatre

The only laser show I've seen at Stone Mountain is for the holidays so it's dancing laser elves and Holly Jolly Christmas playing - what is it normally?

i would go for just martinis, and skip the imax. you get the drinks and the jazz and can skip the corny movies. most of the time the imax movies are pretty horrible and can kill the buzz from the martinis. i prefer to use that buzz to build momentum for an evening filled with great decisions...like clermont or mjq or gladys knights

anyone know of any good (and by good I mean shitty) Karaoke places ITP?

I dont want a place where people think they are auditioning for American Idol, I want a shitty, fun place, with a lot of people. I hate karaoke, but that doesnt mean it doesnt entertain me if its shitty enough.

i went there last summer and made my way upstairs - it wasn't that bad when i was there - it was ridiculously packed upstairs though - so much that you wanted to remain downstairs

i haven't yet, but the poachers are starting to get to the more residential gas stations in the highlands and L5P area where I live...and they're mostly private stores, which don't seem to get refuled as much.

i work from home but am likely picking a project up on the perimeter...that's a lot of gas for someone used to filling up 1, maybe 2 times a month

amazing sight today - so my office is in the GP building and has a great view of the connector as it winds through downtown. today at 5:15 PM, the connector was flowing freely, no slow-downs. i have never ever ever seen the connector not backed up in at least one direction at that hour. NEVER. i guess there's just mad car pooling going on right now to save gas.

also, last night i was at moe's and joe's in the highlands having a beer when a tanker trucked pulled into the chevron next door. within 5 minutes the parking lot was packed with cars waiting for it to unload. crazy.

the qt on n druid hills and briarcliff

but i filled up after the initial oh shit moment and before there was this new hiccup so i was able to avoid the lines

and driving less than 20 miles a day with a car that gets 30 mpg, im good for awhile

so it is slightly misrepresenting

the best karaoke place that i have been to in atlanta is mary's in EAV. yes - it is a gay bar, and there are always a couple of american idol wannabe queens, but for the most part, its just a lot of fun. cheap drinks help too

i had no idea...we were at loco's watching the red sox game when they informed us that they were closing at midnight...the wife of one of my buddies was out with some girlfriends at 5 paces, so we went there to watch. he had a buddy he played football with in town from boston, so the two of us watched the game and made fun of the dudes in there

went to wasabi for some sushi last week and noticed no mas cantina right next door - met up with an old college friend there on sat. night - wasabi had some great rolls and the guacamole and margaritas at no mas were great as well - it's a shitty part of town but they share the same complimentary valet parking lot so it's not a big deal

i recommend both places

found out i know an ATL TWWer by a degree of separation as well

my two favorite places for seafood in Atlanta are Six Feet Under and Spondivits

http://www.sixfeetunderatlanta.com - I go to the one in Grant Park and sit up top overlooking oakland cemetery

http://www.spondivits.net - only been to the one down by the airport

do you eat much around the Highlands and L5P? if not, I can recommend a lot of places around there

^^ my wife and i love south city kitchen http://www.southcitykitchen.com/

we've been to the vinings location a few times - it's not necessarily a seafood restaurant but they have a few seafood items - great southern food - they make some great fried green tomatoes
