God forbid people discuss bars and local entertainment venues on a college message board........

The whole buy an ad argument does not really apply when you consider that a banner ad cannot hold the amount of information as a thread, people cannot ask questions in it, and no one can respond to said questions.

I don't think the bar threads were the slightest bit of an annoyance. They actually were a good way to find out what was going on, which last time I checked was one of the purposes of a message board.

discussion about specific bars are fine. the collective "we" are currently in dicussions on how to handle this issue.

to answer your question (albeit a bit late), no i dont mind. football threads blow up pretty quick so one every week or two is fine. i watch multiple games and dont have to flip back and forth to discuss them.
