I'd go to the doctor.
It's probably something like a UTI that can be easily cleared up with some antibiotics.

^^ Seconded.
Have you been drinking lots of fluids and been more dehydrated as of late? Change in mood, appetite, energy, etc? Basically, do you feel more like crap lately, do you pee a lot more, and drink a lot more, and did you notice any funny yellow crystals forming on the toilet?
If so, you might need to get your blood sugar checked.
Just really got to push this, because if you have diabetes and don't pursue this and catch it early, you might find out that you're diabetic by passing out one day while, say, driving in traffic or walking down the street at night or perhaps somewhere that people won't find you for a while... Yeah, just if the symptoms match get checked.
Either way see a doc. Peeing every 20 mins like that has some sort of treatment. 10/30/2007 12:57:31 AM |

since he is fine standing up, and only has to pee every 20 minutes if he sits or lays down, leads me to believe it is not diabetes or an infection, but rather a physical problem, i.e., something pressing on the bladder in the sitting and lying down positions, but not in the standing position.
that's my opinion.
either way, you have to go see a doctor... other than Dr. TWW. and then post here telling us what it was. 10/30/2007 4:00:56 AM |

The term "UTI" actually covers both lower tract (cystitis/urethritis) and upper tract (pyelonephritis) infections.10/30/2007 5:15:40 AM |

I had a similar problem and I thought it could be diabetes. Turned out that it was my thyroid. Hyperthyroidism can cause exhaustion, change in mood, and change in apetite. It can cause you to sweat a lot. If you are sweating a lot as well as going to the bathroom a lot, I would get your thyroid function checked. Also, try drinking some gatorade in the mean time. With water you are obviously not getting hydrated enough. Gatorade at least made me feel a little better and I wasn't going to the bathroom nearly as much with that. 10/30/2007 7:58:38 AM |

how much green and white tea do you drink? Both of them are natural diuretics, which will cause you to be thirstier and have to pee more often. green tea made me feel like I had to pee every half hour. 10/31/2007 12:49:35 PM |

Mindstorm All American 15858 Posts user info edit post |
I would definitely suggest switching over to drinking only water for a while, if only because you've been so thirsty. It doesn't have to be diabetes, but if you're thirsty all the time you might just want to give your body water instead of all that other stuff. Drinking the caffeinated beverages might not help, heh.
Good luck on whatever it is. 10/31/2007 1:52:21 PM |

if you aren't concentrating your urine (sounds like you are not since its pale to clear) and you are thirsty all of the time
it could be diabetes insipidus.....so its a good thing you finally went to the dr
you could have had a pituitary tumor and wouldnt have known about it until shit hit the fan. 11/1/2007 4:59:47 AM |

i have the same issue Steven, with my father and my grandmother both have diabetes. I dont have that (yet) but I piss alot. Especially when drinking beer, prolly like every 5 minutes easy.
doc told me it was irritating diuretic fluids like beer/coffee and things like that as the culprit. That doesn't help much but apparently some bladders are more sensitive than others and although there's technically nothing wrong with you, you have to deal with that shit much worse than the next guy. Sucks. 11/2/2007 2:39:36 PM |
