just an fyi, you don't want to put any burn gel on a 2nd or 3rd degree burn. it'll only make matters worse. if the burn develops blisters then it's a 2nd degree burn. don't pop the blisters. popping them only causes it to take longer to heal. if it's a 3rd degree burn then you wouldn't need any gel at all since you wouldn't have any pain.

^yep. best thing to do is just to keep it clean. once it starts healing, then you can start using something like neosporin or the like. the bad burns/road rash i had from my first wreck 4 years ago actually hurt much worse putting burn cream on them. i just gritted my teeth and poured hydrogen peroxide over them once a day, and left them open to heal and eventually scab over. neosporin smeared on bandages when i needed to go anywhere but left them open otherwise. maybe not the best course of action since i never bothered to go to the hospital or doctor, but it's what worked for me and was the most comfortable. none of the wounds got infected either.

if you need anything to dress it with, i've got this awesome stuff called xeroform that's specifically made for wounds like that. it's what i've had to use on my skin grafts (which are much like a bad burn at the harvest site). i should have a few sheets left over. then you just put a regular gauze pad or wrap on top. i wish i'd known about the stuff in the past.

I burned my finger one time rly bad in bacon grease and they gave me this stuff with silver in it or something didnt burn or sting and worked rly well. But i think it was 2nd degree cuase it had a huge blister the size of my whole finger. But Jamies leg i am sure is bad from what seen

It has a Expansion chamber after the pipe right before the silencer. It Runs sick. 321cc of 2 stroke power.

OK, just got back from Wake Med. They have her in the SICU for a level 3 liver rupture. She’s stuck there for at least 3-4 days until they are comfortable that it will stay stable. Sucks though, cause as long as she is in the ICU, I can’t stay with her. Otherwise, she looks and is acting normal. The burn is not even a threat at this point.

Shit was fun this morning though, even if it ended badly. She needs to stay off bikes for a year they said though, to give the liver enough time to get the shell strong enough to take any sort of impact without a worse rupture.

Newest news... I'm moving to a step down room on a regular floor as soon as one comes available

I really wish we had caught the whole thing on video-- I bet I could've made it onto one of those big crash DVDs

The craziest part-- I thought the ER doc was kidding when he came in & sat down on my bed. His exact words were "you broke your liver." I started laughing at him-- who describes a liver as 'broken'?? Apparently, my liver is lacerated in a bunch of places-- best analogy I've heard is that the liver is about the consistency of a tomato & mine now looks all bruised and with a bunch of holes.

Keith- the crazy part of it is that they haven't said anything about not drinking
(not that I'm going to try it any time soon!!!) mmmm.... wings & beer


Most importantly-- Thanks to everybody-- I love all you guys It really means a lot to me.
Hopefully I'll be out on Thursday or Friday.
