I'm really digging the new Wipeout for the PSP but am really really lame at it. I can't finish most races in phantom mode. hell I've only finished ONE race in phantom mode to be honest, but I can't get enough of it.
I remember loving Wave Race for the 64 and even though it was pretty much mario kart on water, and I am literally the god of MK 64 (They call me Driftonox, Master of the half second powerslide)

but waverace killed me and I still loved it.
Pitfall was another one

Maybe I'm a relic of the NES days where most games were almost impossible to beat so we obsessed till we finally did it. There were no "Press "X" to win" buttons on our controllers, but back on point.

Anyone have any games they like to play even though they feel they aren't any good at?

I dont play too much any more but I used to love all the Street Fighter games without being very good at them. I could barely pull off dragon-punches from the right side of the screen and when I did, it was only after doing 2 or 3 standing uppercuts attempting it. Kind of the same thing for most fighting games when I was younger. I guess that's how it is when you have no brothers to whoop your ass into shape.

^^ I was never very good at pulling of the moves for that game either. My method with Ryu was fireball, fireball, fireball, fireball (oh shit they're too close!) jumpkick, sweep, jumpkick, sweep...repeat over and over

well I am the true king of MK 64. I even have my old game cartridge to prove it. as far my internet searches have produced, I hold the world record on three tracks >.<

i'd rev it up and take some pics of the times but my 64 is a fucking pain to get to work for more than ten seconds. But I will make a note of this next time I crank it up

but this isn't about pissing contests. Another one that I loved but sucked at was M.U.S.C.L.E
the little dude with the knight's helmet on was my favorite and he could do this sweet as flying suplex but I only got him to do it like twice and those were by accident.

Also Far Cry. I was ok till the mutant rocket launcher apes came out, then I had to cheat, and it was STILL almost impossible to fucking beat

I sucked so hard at Far Cry. The enemies in that game were way too fucking good at seeing you through a shitload of vegetation. Super Smash Brothers Melee I could dominate the event modes and the hardest CPU's, but I got my ass handed to me against others for a long time. I can hold my own now, especially in brawl. I suck ass at every fighting game that has ever come out, multiplayer or single player. The times I do win are from spamming moves over and over . I suck really hard at Ikaruga. I've unlocked 3 continues and STILL can't fucking beat Stage 4. Call of Duty 4 is another game I'm not too great at. First Person Shooters really aren't my thing outside of the Rare-developed ones, Half Life, or Halo. I can hold my own in those. And I love F-Zero GX, but I'll be damned if the harder difficulties didn't kick my ass.

Sucking at Ikaruga and F-Zero GX is only natural. Even the people good at them played for hours on end.

i don't suck at many games but the ones i do suck at i usually just give up on like N+ and geometry wars. the only game i can think of is gears of war. i loved playing the game but i was absolutely terrible at multiplayer. actually i'm pretty horrible in multiplayer in every third person shooter.
