The thread for sharing cat stories. Earlier, I found one of my mom's cats found a lizard and was playing with it. He bit it in half and then walked away bored. Turns out he bit the lizard where it was still breathing and crawling around on its front two legs. I smashed it with a rock to put it out of its misery.

Post stories of your demented cats!

my cat has one friend at my parents house. it is a stone rabbit lawn animal. the reason it is inside is because at christmas she knocked over our christmas tree and smashed all the ornaments on the ground. so my parents brought in this 30lb stone bunny from outside to put on the stand so she couldn't tip it over. after christmas when they were taking out the tree etc, they put the bunny to the side and she fell in love with it. so its been inside ever since. everytime she does something bad she goes and rolls on the bunny and talks really cute so no one can be mad at her. she =

Your lizard story made me remember this one:

One time, there was a skink in our (mine & my boyfriends) house somehow. It made its way to the living room where my boyfriend was laying on the couch, I was on the recliner. He and I both saw something move on the couch at the same time... My bf yelled "GRITS!" and I kinda yelled a little - all of a sudden... Grits came FLYING into the living room like he knew exactly what was wrong, turned the corner around the couch and sprung to the back of the couch catching the skink in his mouth and then ran to the hardwood with it where he then bashed it with his paws and killed it. It was like he was out to save my bf that night! It was really cool to see.

I have a big suitcase on my bed right now where I have slowly been packing. Grits is in there laying on it now and refuses to get up. He has already smacked me in the head for trying to make him move.

Grits also likes to put his armpits on things. Nothing in particular... it doesn't matter what it is. He just likes to put his armpits on things.

My girlfriend has two cats.. and they used to try and sleep in the bed with us and I hated them.. both had claws too so I'd wake up with claw marks in my shoulders...

Fuck cats... dogs ftw.

I mean I try and be nice to them but the motherfuckers just run away... until I fall asleep and then they prey on me and I wake up with scratch marks in the AM...

The dogs love me though...

i think i am just an animal person. i wouldn't get another cat, but i do love my cat. i want a dog for sure. but...i can't complain...she is like the best cat. very personable and not really catty. no scratching no biting. and she isn't independent. which is a good and bad thing. i wanted a cat so it could do its thing and i could do mine, but she is seriously next to me 100% of the time i'm at home. she needs people, i don't know why. my mom thinks animals take on the personalities of their owners, in which case i'm very sociable and needy (needy as in like needy of company, not needy as unable to handle myself)

^ That really kinda sounds like she needs a buddy. That's my experience, and I have had cats for 22 years!

I KNOW!!!! she needs a buddy but she's so spoiled she likes to be the dominant one. i may get her a friend but i'm going to try to make it a canine friend she MAY like another cat---i mean she definitely would but i just want a dog and i think she'd like one too. she likes the neighbors dog haha so hopefully she'd like a puppy to boss around. she'd probably love another cat and i AM a sucker for kittens but i dunno if i want another one. i'll probably end up going to the animal shelter and coming out with like 5 cats and 2 dogs haha

awwww yours looks like mine with little white boots

haha, when Grits walks away from you, it looks like he has on white hip waiders! My brother laughs at him every time Grits walks by because of his "britches".

Yeah, I think the puppy is a good idea. Just make sure it is smaller than your cat so that she can boss it around.

Callie:

I made her get out after I took this because it looked like she was pooping in the box! You know that look, where they turn away from you and stare . . . won't look you in the eye and poop.

One of our cats LOVES boxes. He even climbs in the soda 12-pack boxes backwards. It's hilarious.

^ My old kitty was like that. If the box was too small for her to fit in, she'd just lay her paws in it
