Do you have some sort of backscattering laser horn?

That might explain things.

For real however, could this some sort of electrical feedback thing in your car's wiring? That's the only plausible way I can link one action to the other.

yeh, that's what I figured, but I was intrigued because this is the only electronic device that is effected by it. but then again, I don't know much about electricity/circuits, and all that cute stuff.

do you really use your horn often enough to where this is a problem?

possibly. it's more of a concern that there could be an electrical problem with my truck or the detector.

Some cars are known to make them false alarm. Seems like the new Chargers were getting false alarms iirc with the Passport 9500.

Sounds like nobody here has an answer for you. Looks like a question for Google or Escort to answer.

finally got a hold of someone from escort that knew something.

she said that it actually means that the radar is working better than expected because it's picking up electrical interference.

I don't think honking horns activating radar detectors is on the FCC compliance list

Working better than expected?

Sounds like she just wanted to say something to get you off the phone.

something about the height of a jailblazer's tail lights causes my V1 to go wacky.

Its always a jailblazer too

a handful of times a caddy or infinity*

[Edited on August 22, 2008 at 7:45 AM. Reason : lots of cars use LED lighting, but SUVs are the perfect height]
