anyone else planning to go? I'll be there! I'm stoked... never seen them before. Folks who have seen them, do they put on a good show?

Since when does Wilmington get shows like this? Did some new place open up?

yeah, I was pretty shocked... it's at the Soupbox lounge.

They're also playing at the 40 watt on Oct.2. I live in Columbia, SC, so athens and wilmington are the same distance from me. I'd much rather see them in Athens, but it's on a thursday night... whereas the wilmington show is on friday night. If people wanna meet up before for dinner, I'd be game

Sweet I was starting to get pissed since it looked like they weren't coming this way. And a Friday to boot... excellent.

The excuse should be that Okkervil River is in Wilmington. Only reason why my friends and I are going.

I've decided that as long as the football game on the 4th isn't at noon, I'm going to this show.

Gas prices be damned.

Yeah I know. But the wife said she could be ready to leave Wilmington by 6:30am Saturday morning, so we can still tailgate. It'll be a long day, but so worth it.

saw them last night in Athens... great show.

Setlist as I remember it (not in order)

Lost Coastlines
Starry Stairs
Pop Lie
Singer Songwriter
Blue Tulip
Our Life is not a movie or maybe
Unless its kicks
A Hand to take a hold of the scene
Plus Ones
A Girl in Port
John Allyn Smith Sails
Black
A Stone
The latest toughs
For Real
Okkervil River Song

Highlights were John Allyn Smith Sails, For Real, A Stone, and Lost Coastlines

Would one of you going to Wilmington please post the setlist after the show? Thanks!

That is a fucking awesome setlist.

I'm probably going to die on the way back from the show tonight. I am absolutely exhausted, and that drive back is going to be killer. Lots of coffee drinking will be done.

Probably gonna try to skip out of work a little bit early so I can get down there in time to have dinner at this place down the street from the Soap Box http://www.circa1922.com/

Got any alternatives? I haven't been to Wilmington in like 10 years, so I was just looking on the web for somewhere to go.

Depends on what you want to spend.

Cafe Phoenix is good
Circa is ok but its tapas so you pay a lot for a little bit of food
Fat Tonys is good italian
Yo Sake has good sushi
Thats all I can think of off the top of me head

I have never been able to remember setlists, so I can't help you too much, but I will look through the albums here and try to remember which songs they played. I'm sure I will forget a few and probably even name one they didn't play.

Fucking ridiculous show; best I've seen in a while. Bit of an odd crowd, though, it was kind of strange. I also had been expecting to be leaving around midnight, but Okkervil River didn't even go on until midnight. Made it back to Raleigh around 4... always good when 2 lanes on the highway start turning into 8.

They opened with with Singer Songwriter and closed with Okkervil River Song.

Westfall
Okkervil River Song
Marine Island Lovers
For Real
Black
The Latest Toughs
So Come Back, I Am Waiting
Our Life Is Not A Movie Or Maybe
Unless It's Kicks
A Hand to Take Hold of the Scene
A Girl in Port
John Allyn Smith Sails
Lost Coastlines
Singer Songwriter
Starry Stairs
Blue Tulip
Pop Lie

I think that's about right..
