I recently bought a scooter from Scoot Scoot on Dixie trail. Here is a picture... .

If anyone has any ideas about up keep or safety please feel free to post. Also any ideas about modifications would be great as I trying to get the most out of my purchase.

I think you can just tie it to a bike rack. That's what I'd do anyway.

benellis are pretty badass

there is a bunch of scooter threads on here that will tell you how to get the most enjoyment out your scoots, steps one and two usually are buying beer and derestricting the variator.

don't forget to join the TWW scooter club

from two years of scooter experience, my words of wisdom:
- if the scooter is less that 50cc (no license on it), don't worry about a parking sticker for campus. park it at a bike rack. you CAN get a sticker, but you don't need it.
- half-dome helmets are fine... don't let anyone scare you. however, get a full helmet if you're not willing to take the risk. it's a choice you have to make.
- keep up the maintenance. it's less expensive than fixing stuff.
- try to avoid Western during rush hours. cars will make some dangerous moves to get around you, and it's just so much easier/safer to take a side road. it will only take you an extra 5 or 10 minutes.
- accept the fact that you'll look goofy, and live it.

also, always drive to take up the full lane (drive in the middle)...driving to one side invites cars to drive around you, which is ASKING to get hit...if you drive the middle, you might piss someone off, sure, but at least they know you're there and are less likely to clip you

oh, they'll protect your noggin...but not your face if, god forbid, you happen to slide across the pavement...REALHELMENTS4LYFE

derestrict variator before doing to, or they will run you over on purpose.
I never have ppl honking at me within the city limits, because im always going as fast or faster than the traffic flow

ah, that's true...the met now does a bit over 40mph on flat or downhill stretches, but the uphill is frustratingly slow (i've got to figure out something to do about that, actually...it's maddening)

i'd probably run me over

that's one of the dumbest things i've read on here recently. obviously, you've never had to rely on a helmet to save your life. i respect anyone's right to choose what kind of helmet to wear or to even wear one at all, but to advise that a half helmet is good for much of anything in terms of safety is absurd.
