i still don't understand why i sat all the way through this 2 hour premiere. Hour 1 was ok. Hour 2 was awful.
They should have just called it "Grey's Anatomy......IN SPACE".

i felt the same way - i thought it might be kind of funny because ron livingston was in it but what a pathetic waste of time - there were a few times i kind of wanted to know how it's all going to turn out and wtf gave those guys heart disease last second but by the end i just didn't care 8/3/2009 8:22:09 AM |

yeah i'm not sure why i watched it either. very cheesy and a lot of things just don't make sense.
like when chick in the venus suit got sucked out the door. why would the tether be a million miles long and there's no automatic reel-in or at least hand crank to get her back. wtf?
oh and spit will clog holes in your space suit 8/3/2009 8:22:39 AM |

yeah the tether thing really got on my nerves. I mean its 2052, and they don't have a winch controlled tether, yeah right. But yet somehow the tether line was being reeled back in while Ron was pulling it. It should have been one knotted, floating mess all around him.
I am still somewhat intrigued about this pod 4, and "Beta" that seems to be choosing the crew and what happens to them. I have a feeling it will turn out to be some A.I. computer much like Eagle Eye. 8/3/2009 8:32:05 AM |

I met Ron Livingston at a party last year when I was down at Kennedy Space Center (message_topic.aspx?topic=548929) and he said he was down there for an astronaut related show/movie or whatever. I guess this is what it was about.

The point of the rotating things on the spaceship is what now? 8/5/2009 4:26:43 PM |

i saw a documentary type thing on future space stations and that they might setup a rotating thingy for bedroom spaces to create gravity...so i guess that's what they could be doing on this show. 8/5/2009 4:44:36 PM |

I thought it was okay. Definitely agree that the first half was better than the second. And the flashbacks are kinda annoying though I guess I'll just have to get used to it.
I'll stick with it for awhile and see how it progresses. 8/5/2009 5:58:16 PM |

The only reason I really see myself continue watching is to find out what the beta thing is.
I just hope that this show doesnt turn into some lame post - LOST series. There will countless clues and flashbacks as to what is causing everything in the episode etc etc etc.
I guess my biggest complaint is it needs more nudity. Space sex is HAWT!!!1!!!!11 8/5/2009 6:18:22 PM |

No, they already explained the gravity by the special suits and the electromagnetic floor. There is no reason I can think of for the rotation 8/5/2009 10:54:15 PM |

But the bed sheets & stuff (bookbag, clothes on a bed) in their rooms doesn't float away, and it's not wearing a special suit. That's what I made my assumption off of... 8/5/2009 11:13:22 PM |

The previews looked decent, but now I'm glad I forgot to watch. They should send up some people from Grey's Anatomy--another show I don't watch--to do emergency space surgery on one of the astronauts in Defying Gravity.
And there's your season finale, folks! That'll be one million dollars. 8/10/2009 8:53:11 AM |
