NyM410 and I were brainstorming and all we can think of are Herb, Ben Howland and Oliver Purnell

can anybody think of any others? this is perfect time for you to shine, you know-it-all sports gurus.

LOL you're awesome.

Interesting that 2 of those coaches have never achieved anything of consequence.

Oh, I thought you meant coaching schools to NCAA probation in 3 different conferences.

Calipari hasn't done it yet....or did the SEC just announce their awards?

and I don't think Jim Harrick is currently coaching

Winning anything in the PAC-10 this year shouldn't count....As a conference, they should just be quiet and hope everyone forgets they're there.

hypothesis: ncstatetke is actually herb sendek, who used most of his nc state salary to found the beta beta chapter of tau kappa epsilon as a front for trolling internet message boards. he even went so far as to modify old agromecks to reinforce the illusion

discuss amongst yourselves!

I can't confirm it for sure, but I believe Bob Huggins has. Bill Self has at least 2

It amazes me how people can forget that Herb left on his own free will. Some dipshit commentator says it during a basketball game and all of a sudden it becomes a fact.

The Beta-Beta chapter of Tau Kappa Epsilon was founded on January 18, 1947, after members of the Zeta chapter of Alpha Lambda Tau, a small, regional fraternity, petitioned to the members of TKE Grand Council at the 1946 national conclave for affiliation.

Herbert J. Sendek was born Feb. 22, 1963 in Pittsburgh, PA.

These conclusions help deny the original hypothesis that Herb Sendek had a part in the founding of TKE-BB.

coached under Herb one year, left for WCU, then returned to Miami-OH to coach under another disciple, Charlie Coles

so I guess he's a disciple AND a disciple of a disciple

but again, this is not a Herb thread. simply a trivia thread

those are the only two, the other ones are struggling as head coaches, not that I think THAT reflects poorly on Sendek. I can't wait for the utter domination Sean Miller is about to unleash on Sendek.

IUPUI put together a nice 24-10 (15-3) record and Western Carolina finished 22-11 (11-7) and had nice wins @ Louisville and against tournament team Wofford

bah, I can't believe I forgot about IUPUI...they actually have a chance to make the tourney so you're correct on that one, but Larry Hunter hasn't made it to the NCAAs since he's been at WCU as far as I can tell so I would say he's struggling. Also Mark Phelps is running Drake into the ground.
