So are we pretending that CJL will be coming back next year?

Odds are he's not coming back, but he's fallen back in the draft this year. He could benefit from staying and proving he could dominate, but that's what was said last year and it hasn't happened. If he had left after his freshman year, he would have been a top 20 pick on potential alone. Last year he would have likely snuck into the first round with scouts assuming he was starting to put it together. This year, given his continued inconsistency, I find it unlikely he's a first round draft pick unless he really turns it on down the stretch. Too much of a tweener. Too inconsistent.

Didn't have too big of an issue with him getting a technical to prove a point to the refs. If he had gotten a second like it looked like he was about too I would have been pissed.

I wouldn't have been upset had he thrown a punch at the ref.

so the refs basically swallow th whistle any time he goes strong to the hope 3 vs 1, even if he gets mauled.

It's pretty simple, if he goes strong 1 on 1 then he gets fouled, if he goes strong into a double or triple team he won't get the call. He needs to be able to recognize this.

Solid effort tonight with several highlight plays. Glad to see the refs actually called some of the times he got fouled down low for once.

Is it inconceivable that Leslie and/or Brown stay? I know we are counting on them leaving but is there a chance at all?

I feel like brown would be more likely, but he's been out of HS for 4 years now with that year of prep school, so who knows if he would wanna put it off another year. I kinda feel like Leslie has already checked out sometimes, but then others he seems fine.

So yeah, I'm no help

I realize CJ does some stupid things sometimes but to think we would be better without him is indeed crazy. Sometimes you just have to live with the bad things for all of the good things. If he came back next year by some small chance I would be ecstatic to have him.

Who's saying we'd be better without CJL? Oh, that guy Stimwalt. I think that's the same guy who was saying that he called our new "smaller starting lineup", which is our same starting lineup, except Warren is starting over Purvis. Yep, he nailed it, smaller. And we'd be better with CJL. Genius.

PJ vs CJ this weekend -- a great shooter vs a great athlete. Should be a really good matchup. Gotta like our chances on the offensive boards with Hairston only being 6'5 (even though he's built like a linebacker).

^^ don't underestimate Hairston on the boards. He is just as capable of a highlight-worthy putback slam as Leslie is.

Here's 3 of his monster dunks (didn't he also have a two handed put back?)

I think the third down is the nastiest, or maybe it's tied with the inbounds one

The hang time and elevation he gets on that second slam is ridiculous considering the lack of a running start. No one has ever questioned his natural ability or potential.

career defining stretch for CJL.

No doubt one of the most talented we've had in years, but it'll be interesting to see if he puts it all together and turns this season into a memorable one or a disappointing one.

well he certainly won't be a first round pick this year... wonder if he comes back or just says screw it and goes pro anyway.

If I were him I'd just take the money. It'll be even tougher to go first round after his senior year (unless he miraculously develops an NBA game which I can't see happening at this point).

At this point he's better off chasing the dream and failing than losing out on another year of income.
