Kinda hope there isn't a huge backlash or otherwise something to impact the program from the Gary Williams comments. I could see something along the lines of Yow being accused of slander or what not by saying Williams was sabotaging the search.

another thing that has happened in the last couple months, that i assume at some point had something to do with her is, on the scoreboard at all of our home games, instead of "NC STATE" it's now simply "STATE"

D.Yow just hired a top notch basketball coach for $1.2 million a year for 5 years with extensions baked in for making the tournament.

A completely fair deal to all parties. Prove yourself and you extend your tenure. Fail and we have an easy out.


Gottfried knows what he's in for. He has to win. He's not fucking scared of winning. And with good reason because he will win. He is going to win just as he's always done.

Yow said she'd make it happen and she made it happen.

She has serious credibility.

On top of that she has been a perfect AD going into this search.

An AD that addresses fan personally, wants to win, and doesn't take shit off anyone?

That's a dream AD.

I'm not sure of the timeline for just STATE on the jerseys. I think it will happen faster than the move to a single provider, but it might just be the case of when the sport needs to order new jerseys. I had heard through the grapevine that Michigan State wearing "State" was brought up and DY said something along the line of no one should get us confused with a team that is green and is up north. Again, just paraphrasing from what I have heard. Right now, any digital scoreboard we have will say STATE.

I remember seeing a month or 2 ago that our BB and FB jerseys this year were supposed to say State and that we may have an alternte black uniform for FB. Pretty sure it was from a tweet from the student athletics board.

Wow Doyel's comments on Gary Williams are rough. Never seen a journalist (or whatever you want to classify Doyel as) go after a coach, especially a successful coach, like that. Doyel is definitely going to fire up a new fanbase. Maybe that is his strategy. Piss off fanbase, get them to learn who you are and reading your articles, then start being nice to them and have them continuing to read your articles. Rinse and repeat.
