First Biden COS now Gibbs announced his resignation. It happens in administrations, but wonder if there's more reasons behind them

Gibbs reason:
Quote :
"White House press secretary Robert Gibbs, one of President Barack Obama's top advisers, is resigning to become an outside political adviser for Obama's re-election campaign as part of a major staff shake-up."

Biden COS reason:
Quote :
"Ron Klain, chief of staff to Vice President Biden, is leaving the White House to become president of Case Holdings, the holding company for the business and philanthropic interests of former AOL chairman Steve Case."

Bush had 4 and Clinton had 5 press secretaries during their tenures.

Because they have to start campaigning for Obama now to try and resurrect his image of a intellectual enigma, rather than a pariah, now that the cat is out of the bag regarding what he believes.

The average length of a press secretary's employment for the past 2 decades has been 2 years, but in this case a 2 year job-span is obviously due to something mysterious and malicious.

Wasn't one abandon ship meme thread enough?

Has any modern president had only 1 press secretary?

Everyone hates the press secretary.

Anyway, Obama got his ass kicked. Makes sense to get rid of the guys who failed.

Gibbs is the mouthpiece. He didn't fail. He just sucked.

Geithner, Holder, Napolitano failed.

Following a town hall meeting in Raleigh, North Carolina, President Obama is presented with a picture of a young Robert Gibbs, who played soccer for North Carolina State.

He's probably the one who taught the President to do this at rallies in Raleigh:

Geithner, Holder, Napolitano failed[quote]Yup. To be fair to mid-term departures, any job in the WH is insanely demanding.

At least they stuck around their jobs longer than Sarah Palin.

1. these gubment positions are highly stressful
2. they don't pay all that well, as nice as the perks may be
3. staffers want to monetize/leverage their White House status to fast track other endeavours while they're still fresh

Quote :
"Chamber of Commerce applauds Daley appointment

Washington (CNN) – The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is a fan of Bill Daley.

The president of the pro-business group that spent millions on behalf of Republican candidates last year called Obama's decision to name the current J.P. Morgan banker as his chief of staff a "strong appointment."

"Bill Daley is a man of stature and extraordinary experience in government, business, trade negotiations, and global affairs," said Thomas J. Donahue. "He's an accomplished manager and strong leader. We look forward to working with him to accelerate our recovery, grow the economy, create jobs, and tackle America's global challenges.""

Amazing to see the US Chamber of Commerce and Howard Dean on the same side of any issue.

Add McConnel to that list of unlikely allies:

Mitch McConnell: William Daley pick a 'hopeful sign'
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0111/47176.html

Quote :
"“I frankly think it’s kind of a hopeful sign,” said McConnell to reporters. “He has the business background.”"

And that is from someone who never gives the President even an ounce of credit for anything good.
