Job Description
• Deploys the release of new technologies as well as designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of PC/server operating systems, related utilities and hardware.
• Responsible for troubleshooting server problems as reported by users.

• Supports Web access and electronic messaging services and maintains a secure systems environment.
• Provides new hardware specifications to users based on application needs and anticipated growth, installs new servers and maintains the server infrastructure.
Job Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field. Or equivalent work experience. Typically has 3 to 5 years of IT work experience.
• Requires a high level of expertise in multiple system environments.

Perform daily administration tasks with Novell eDirectory and Microsoft Active Directory (user accounts, access control); tape backup, restore, and rotation; server hardware and OS install, maintenance, and support for local and remote servers; hardware diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair; end-user support; and special projects as needed. Position may require additional/flexible hours to accommodate maintenance windows and may require participation in 24x7 on-call rotation with pager or cell-phone.

At least 4 years hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting with the following:
-All aspects of server hardware (primarily HP and Dell), external disk, and tape drives/auto-changers (rack-mounting, firmware updates, RAID arrays, component replacement/upgrade, blade servers and chassis, etc).
- Server operating systems to include:
-- Novell Netware 6 and/or Novell Open Enterprise Server II on SUSE LINUX (CNE/MCNE preferred) with Novell eDirectory (with a large global tree) and iPrint.
-- Microsoft Windows Server 2003 and/or 2008 (MCITP Enterprise Administrator or Server Administrator preferred) with Microsoft Active Directory (with a large global tree) and group policy.
- VMware ESX/ESXi
- CA ARCserve r9 or above (preferably r11+) in Novell, Microsoft, and LINUX implementations.
- Server based enterprise anti-virus applications (CA eTrust experience preferred)
- At least 1 year experience with server virtualization (VMware ESX 3 or above) with SAN storage.

• - Knowledge and experience with the following:
Communications via TCP/IP
DNS and DHCP
Configuring printers for network attachment/printing
Not required, however any knowledge or experience with the following is beneficial:
Cisco UCS blade server hardware
HP System Insight Manager
Dell OpenManage
Other monitoring or alerting tools
JRB Tools for Novell and Microsoft Windows

yeah, that was my pay as a co-op in the 90s.

i imagine they get more now.

If you have expertise with Cisco UCS, you're worth a hell of a lot more than $19/hour.

none of the above statements are to be taken to be more than a statement of the obvious.

So they want an IPC certified soldering technician with 5-10 years experience capable of advanced surface mount soldering. And want that person to be able to do tons of different tasks with minimum supervision (not an assembly line).

At $10-12/hr. You can make more fucking delivering pizzas.

It's really not an employers market for software and web developers. Postings like the OPs are just bullshit.
