I'm just joking I thought it was obvious. Sorry for any disruptions this fib-in-good-faith may have caused!

Probably the most relevant thread but Marriott/United is status matching so if you're Platinum at Marriott you get silver on United and if you're United Gold or higher you get Marriott Gold. Pretty sweet.

Is it possible to have all 4 Southwest cards at once? I already have one, and I was thinking about getting another 50k offer for short term milage needs, then two more whenever the 50k is available towards the end of this year/the beginning of next year.

Is this even possible?

Doubt it. Why do you need 200k sw pts for one year?

I could use the 50k over the next few months, and I want to work towards getting the 100k points in early 2014 for the companion pass.

If you are getting a second 50k card this year then you're already 90% of the way there to getting a companion pass which will span through 2014. No need to get four cards.

I've had my first Southwest card for a couple years, and I don't wanna earn the 100k towards my CP until 2014.

Oh, I cancelled mine when the fee was about to hit.
I'd be quite surprised if you got 4 sw cards with chase at once.

Yeah I should probably go ahead and cancel mine in preparation of trying for the CP in 2014 (and forget about the 50k miles now)

Doesn't Southwest give you miles when you pay the annual fee anyway? I know a lot of card do that kind of thing and I thought Southwest was one of those...

Just applied for the Chase Southwest 50k offer on the Premier card ($99 ann. fee), after having gotten the Plus card ($69 ann. fee) a few months ago. Hoping I get accepted so I can get CP status in 2014.

I got the "application under review" response, but I'm expecting a call within the next couple days to re-allocate some of my $70k+ credit limit from my Freedom card in order to open the new account. Seems to be Chase's M.O. with me as of late.

What's the difference in the premier and the plus for SW? besides the annual fee, and do they hit you with that as soon as you sign up?

^^
I would call the recon line: 888-609-7805. I applied for both personal cards a day apart with one being instantly approved and I got the same message you did for the other one. Once I called, they switched around some credit with my Chase Freedom card and I was approved for the other one.

^
As far as I know, the only difference is that you get more rapid reward points on the Premier card (6000) per year of having the card open than you do on the Plus card (3000). You also have no foreign transaction fees on the Premier. I got the annual fee charged after the first statement was available.

^ Thanks. Since the SW card is by Chase, I assume it will show up along with my Chase Freedom and Chase Sapphire? Are the 50,000 points for SW (after 2k spent in 90 days) combined with other Chase points or are they separate? I know my Freedom and Sapphire show up in one pot, which is fine.

I'm just basically trying to figure out why I shouldn't be getting the SW card, it's basically $99 for 50,000 points and then I may or may not cancel...Seems like a no brainer.

Yes, it will show up under your Chase accounts page, but the points are separate from Freedom UR points. I would check current promotions. Last I heard, they dropped it to 25,000 points if you spend $1k in 3 months.

Chase has great customer service. I have accepted the fact that 90% of the time when you call an 800 number the experience is going to be awful, their customer service is great, the reps are genuinely helpful people.

Chase customer service has gotten me out of some jams, refunding a hotel reservation, refunding foriegn transaction fees, refund on broken electronics, etc.

^David0603 and synapse have mentioned selling UR points, so maybe they can chime in as to who they used?

How many times have people sold UR points, how many points were sold at one time, and who did you sell your points to?

^^^ Haven't actually sold anything to them but their offer was about $200 more than Bruce's but they waited until after I had already committed to send an email offer. Also looks like you don't have to use paypal with them so you don't have to deal with the paypal fees either.

Bruce- 127k UR for $1900 (1844.60 after paypal fees)- 1.45c/pt
SMR Offer- 127k UR for $2013- ~1.6c/pt

Has anyone used sellmyrewards.com for any kind of points? I've always used Bruce in the past, but the rates for Amex MR points are considerably higher.

Not too surprising if they're selling them at over 2c/pt. For 127k UR points they offered me $2032. Those same points converted to united, are selling for a little over $2900 on their site

I used Bruce b/c you guys had used him before.
Lots of times he'll paypal me the money before I even send the pts.
Plus he's an actual person with a linked in account, etc, and not some random website run by god knows who.

Sold my MR points to Eli at sellmymiles.com, gave me a better rate than Bruce (1.4c per point).

Here's a link for a 50k point AA mastercard from Citi, thinking about applying to boost my AA balance from the Visa offer:

I'm currently sitting on ~83k AA miles (as a result of the ^ 50k card and the 30k Mastercard). Bruce wants to buy 67.5k of them at 1.2c/mile.

#1 - Is there anything else worthwhile to do with AA points...can I transfer them to some other program and not lost my shirt? This is especially important if I sell 67.5k and am left with 13k more.

#2 Where else should I consider selling them? R2C is offering the same 1.2c/mile.

^ Do you have an email address, or do you have to sign up for the website etc?

Got about 100k AA points and 80k Delta points I've been considering what to do with. I may try and sell the AA points and hold onto the Delta points for flights. Also have about 250k Marriott points I need to use.

AA points are MONEY for international flights. Seriously, hands-down the best on redemption rates and availability. I'd keep those and sell the Delta points, if I were you.

Yeah, I've heard the same, but I still get antsy holding onto so many points, so if I don't intend to use them soon I'll dump them.

Yeah I may keep the AA points for international flights. I just moved to Colorado and I want some skis so it's like 180+ AA/Delta points to keep for some trip I'll go on maybe next year or skis right now. Hehe.

Figured this was a good spot to put this. Just booked a mid-size car in PHL for around $11.50/day OTD. Compact was even less...

you can bet there will be lots of conversation when that happens

on a related note, I booked some SW flights with points recently, and they seem like they're worth more than they used to be. I saw 1.69 cents/mile in one place, and that meshes with me thinking my 50k points being worth around $850, but with this recent travel I booked, it seemed like they were worth > 2 cents per mile. Can anyone explain this or am I doing something wrong here?

Dunno, I just checked my RAL->PHL booking, and I bought each round trip ticket for 9,361 points, which at 1.68 cents/point would be a total of $157 (pretty cheap for that route), where I remember the Wanna Get Away cash price of each flight being around $100 at the time, $99 and $106 iirc, which would mean the points were worth something closer to 2.18 cents/point.
