Atlantic Division is going to be a beast through this (half) season. But this should be a mid-to-high playoff team that will make a lot of noise.

I just hope the defense gets better than it has been (14 goals allowed in 4 games).

^Those who have never experienced being at a game inside MSG have no idea how amazing an arena can be.

MSG before the renovations was probably the shittiest arena I've ever been in. And I've been to Nassau Coliseum and Mellon Arena.

I'm not talking about the quality of the building, just the game time atmosphere.

Game time atmosphere pales in comparison to a lot of places.

MSG is awful, I was 8 rows from the ice the year the Hurricanes were awful and somehow won 5-1 I think (2010 I think this was). If you enjoy vendors constantly walking in front of you and what I thought were terrible sightlines, then yes MSG is awesome. I think the PNC Center has some of the best views in the league. I, too, agree that Nassau is better than MSG. My experience (though awesome from a Hurricanes perspective as we were one of like 8 in the arena partying it up), just overall sucked from an enjoying the game aspect because you couldn't see shit when it mattered, I'd have to keep going up to the scoreboard to see anything.

This is coming from a guy who as a kid was a Rangers fan in the early 90s before the Hurricanes came to Raleigh as my parents are NY transplants prior to my birth. I just think there are better arenas with much more enjoyable experiences around the league.

PNC Center, FTW!

Although Rammstein at MSG a couple years ago was fucking amazing.

2-4-1 vs division, 6-2-0 against everyone else.

this team is very hot and cold unfortunately. their whole dynamic has changed since last season IMO; they feel too different when watching them play. i know it is a shortened season and there are new players plus others that have been traded but it is still frustrating since they are oozing talent.

regardless i'm looking forward to all the games i'll be going to in March

They sad part about the league right now is the Rangers have more points than the Hurricanes, yet if the season ended today the Canes would be #3 in conference seeding and the Rangers would barely make the playoffs.

they Rags have also played one more game, so your argument is flawed from the start.

I'm trying to feel some sympathy for New York sports fans over this travesty but for some reason I can't.

I was making reference to how shitty the southeast conference is. No denying that.

And to take it a step further:
Quote :
"they Rags have also played one more game, so your argument is flawed from the start."

Both have played 3 games against said shitty southeast. Rangers 3-0 (Caps, Tampa twice), Canes 0-3 (TB, Florida, Jets).

Of course the Rangers have more points. THEY'VE PLAYED MORE GAMES.

Also, the Southeast is a Division, not a Conference.

I used the wrong word. Oh geeze, I must know nothing about sports. You clearly know what I meant, get over it.

Take away the one extra tie the Rangers have on the Canes, and still an even record makes a 5-seed difference because of a worse division.

W-L-T still sounds better in my mind than W-L-Overtime Loss.

(I'm having a rough day )

That's great and all, but it's not a tie.

Even then, it wasn't W-L-T, it was W-L-T-OTL.

Rangers were on the brink of not making the playoffs and then won 8 of their last 10 games to get the 6 seed. Pretty awesome, heating up at the right time. Should be an interesting matchup to get a full series with the Caps.

I was so upset at how the team played the first 5 games...then BAM King Henrik comes through with 62 saves in back-to-back shutouts.

Amazing.
