are you transgender?

yes

okay, carry on

i'm confused how someone would get in trouble for "not being transgender", how is that something that you can prove?

that dude sexually assaulted multiple people, is that the standard you are recommending?

the ordinance would have been a good one, they didn't need to include the bathroom provision.

Do you think a "women only" sign deters someone intending to sexually assault people?

Remember the dude who climbed into a poop filled porta potty? And you think a sign is going to stop sex offenders.

^^Well, i don't understand your confusion with how this could work then... if youre not just a transgender person routinely using the bathroom, but are instead a criminal intending to break the law, an ordinance allowing transgender people to use the bathroom that makes the most sense doesn't really protect you.

if a dude is hanging out in the women's restroom not assaulting anyone, how can he be trespassed with the bathroom provision of the non-discrimination ordinance?

you (or someone) stated that the ordinance wouldn't allow just any person to walk into a bathroom but I don't see how it wouldn't, can you explain how it wouldn't?

"

I saw an article about a woman who looked like a man with a beard who started taking selfies in women's restrooms to show people how weird she looks in the women's room. She really looks like a man, if I saw her in the men's room I wouldn't think twice about it.

I think this is a good opportunity to put more stalls in men's rooms, there really should be more.

all this will eventually end with individual stalls for everyone, in bathrooms and locker rooms. it's pretty much the only way some group isn't offended.

How will ^ solve the problem of gentlemen who prefer not doing their business in a stall next to a lady? It won't. I give it 12-14 months before all going to the bathroom is banned in public and we all have to drive home everytime nature calls. And eventually all the unused bathroom space will likely be used for additional cubicles or Starbucks.

both sides of this argument are wrong

You shouldn't be able to tell citizens who they shall or shall not let in the bathrooms on their private property.

How fragile are these men who don't want to pee next to a transgendered person?

A lot of bars around me just have one big bathroom and everyone uses it. Simple!

^^^^^ The bathroom is for using toilets and sinks. Hanging out in the bathroom is considered loitering. You can definitely be trespassed for loitering.

Most have a row or cluster of doors rather than stalls.

You can't see anything going on. There is then a central area to wash your hands.

But honestly who cares? We're all adults here right? We all pee and poop.

I'm not seeing anything in Charlotte's ordinances that would apply if it is not related to drugs, related to prostitution, on railway property, or in a median or traffic area

Can you point to what they would apply that would not open them to discrimination claims?

Thought about what you ^^^ said the other day, about us all peeing and pooping. Stayed up half the night thinking about it. Then something occurred to me... and I fell into a deep peaceful sleep, and haven't thought about it since. Do you know what occurred to me? Transparent stalls, I mean crystal clear.

You think I know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, because I watched the Crying Game? Does that encapsulate you? Personally... I don't give a shit about all that, because you know what, I can't learn anything from you, I can't read on some fuckin' trans blog. Unless you want to talk about you, who you are, why transparent stalls isn't the answer, then I'm out. But you don't want to do that do you sport? You're terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief.

BTW, I don't know which way that article reads, I just did some googling and that popped up.

It should be considered child abuse that if before puberty, parents are trying to sway their child into the opposite sex. Kids are going to say all kinds of things. My toddler tells me she wants to be a dinosaur. Maybe I should get some bony implants for her so she'll look more like a triceratops. Maybe they could fashion a tail for her out of some excess skin.

No, these parents are sick and twisted, and wanted the sex that they didn't get, so they're making it so. Child abuse.

But noooooo, if someone spanks a child in public, or leaves their kid in the car for 3 minutes while they run into the pharmacy (leaving their kid in the car to keep them from potentially sick people), they're the ones who get called abusive.

So messed up.

Edit: My coworker heard something on NPR about a couple that was treating their toddler boy like a girl, because in their words that is what he wants. I was trying to find out something about what she had heard.

So back to the story linked at the top of the page:

From the lede -

"A sexual predator who falsely claimed to be transgender and preyed on women at two Toronto shelters was jailed indefinitely on Wednesday."

How do you falsely claim to be trans?

Apparently your gender identity can change by the hour.....

Gender is a "social construct" though, they can't help it. It totally isn't a mental disorder! If you think someone thinking they are male/female and changing it isn't normal, you are a bigot! Sure doctors agreed it was a mental disorder until recently when they were pressured (for political reasons) to say it wasn't a mental disorder. Why can't you just accept people disfiguring their bodies and committing suicide years later? That is them being them, they don't need help, they just need you to accept them and their suicidal self-destructive surgical procedures.

^^ the mental disorder you kept harping about is when people have mental problems (anxiety, unhappiness, etc...) because they feel they are the wrong gender, not just being the wrong gender by itself. this was explained to you.

Loving who you love isn't a mental disorder. Waking up one day as a "boy" then the next day as a "girl" or no gender at all seems a bit out there. I don't give a shit if a guy wants to wear a dress or some butch check wants to look like a lumberjack and be called Larry.

Expecting society though to bend over backwards to accommodate your fluidly changing sexual identify is bullshit. So the whole transgender I identify as a boy i should be able to pee in the men's stalls (since a trans-guy doesn't have a dick) is already far out there. If we as a society accept transgender rights to pick their preferred potty room does this Lee Luxion person get to flip-flop depending on how they feel that day? Throwing on her sports bra in the mens lockerroom one day when she feels manly but tinkling and powdering her nose in the womens room the next day?

I thought the law only applied to public restrooms. But it is silly to think that a sign of a woman on a door will stop a predator from assaulting someone much like a "no gun" sign will stop a criminal from shooting someone.

At the same time, if a community pool has a locker room where kids change and it's not just going into a stall and doing your business, I can see where two very different definitions of gender can come into conflict. So how can the gov. have a policy that discriminates against no one?

was transgender ever considered a mental disorder by itself? if not, should it be? considering the suicide rates even after reassignment surgeries, are transgender people getting the help they need?

^It was called "Gender Identity Disorder" but the name was changed due to political pressure from liberals, as we have seen though, renaming something and playing pretend doesn't stop the suicide rates.

This same pressure from the left is causing all of these virtue signaling companies/figures to "condemn" North Carolina for not marching to the regressive left's tune.

The way this "issue" has been portrayed on social media is absolutely laughable, if you weren't familiar with the situation you would think, from the outrage of the SJWs, that NC passed a law to put victims of Gender Identity Disorder in jail (like several countries where all these virtue signaling corporations operate). Using the restroom that corresponds with your anatomy? Not if it's 2016 and I want to play Social Justice Warrior! I'm going to bully you into accepting something and if you don't I will call you a bigot!

it won't. however if somebody walking into a bathroom meant for females looks a heck of a lot like a male, it raises a few more eyebrows (right now). would-be criminals would at least have a small deterence knowing they can't waltz right in with an easy out (i'm a woman!) if caught. this isn't much -- i'm not naive enough to think that's going to stop someone with a strong malicious intent.

same for guns, since you make that comparison though. if a place says "no guns", like a restroom says "women", people are more likely to notice somebody walkin around with a glock on their hip.

this issue is much deeper
