I need a bathroom by myself because my penis is so large that I feel uncomfortable around smaller males.

Quote :
"As you, my fans, know I’m scheduled to play in Greensboro, North Carolina this Sunday. As we also know, North Carolina has just passed HB2, which the media are referring to as the “bathroom” law. HB2 — known officially as the Public Facilities Privacy and Security Act — dictates which bathrooms transgender people are permitted to use. Just as important, the law also attacks the rights of LGBT citizens to sue when their human rights are violated in the workplace. No other group of North Carolinians faces such a burden. To my mind, it’s an attempt by people who cannot stand the progress our country has made in recognizing the human rights of all of our citizens to overturn that progress. Right now, there are many groups, businesses, and individuals in North Carolina working to oppose and overcome these negative developments. Taking all of this into account, I feel that this is a time for me and the band to show solidarity for those freedom fighters. As a result, and with deepest apologies to our dedicated fans in Greensboro, we have canceled our show scheduled for Sunday, April 10th. Some things are more important than a rock show and this fight against prejudice and bigotry — which is happening as I write — is one of them. It is the strongest means I have for raising my voice in opposition to those who continue to push us backwards instead of forwards."

He sucks at writing... it's sad people don't talk about the limitations on cities setting min wages in these laws too.

Maybe Mr. Springsteen could answer this query since no one else here has been able to provide me assistance yet. How many "trans" categories are currently recognized? Just transgender?

what do you mean "recognized"?

Probably lots of niche "trans" subcultures out there...

I mean accepted/formally identified in some way. Is it understood that the "T" in BLTGQ refers to transgender only?

Yes, but the "Q" means queer, which can refer to any atypical identity, which can include things that aren't formally accepted.

It's a very libertarian concept really... Live and let live, as long as youre not hurting anyone or infringing their rights.

So the Q encompasses everything else - like transracial, transspecies, transage, and categories that I can't even find on Ask Jeeves yet?

[Edited on April 8, 2016 at 5:02 PM. Reason : Maybe it's transspecies, not transhuman.]

I don't know for sure, but I don't think that's how it works.

I think it has to be "innate" things... trans people innately feel they have a mismatch between their biology and how society perceives their gender, most say they were born that way (but feeling like you were born that way is not a necessity).

Considering race is a social construct (there are no inherent feelings/qualities/proclivities specific to a race), i don't think it falls under the same umbrella, you can certainly feel like you fit in better with certain "races" but it's not an identity in the same way. I can't really envision what transage is, unless someone thinks they're an infant, but i'm not sure how that would work...

It seems like youre trying to get to the point of "well if there are so many, we can't recognize them all, so we should recognize none of them", but this is not how a democracy works. If transage people, for example, could get enough social support and demonstrate a lake of dysfunction, then there's no reason they shouldnt have some level of political support, it's democracy. There's no steady-state of society or policies where we no longer have to consider the thoughts/beliefs/opinions of the constituents, and considering the very clear discrimination and violence trans people face, despite being pretty normal people otherwise, it makes sense for them to seek social acceptance and political protection.

The only point I'm trying to get to is for someone to explain to me and others how all this works. I was born in the early 80's which makes me middle-aged now so I need these things explained to me. It doesn't compute that gender can be fluid but not age or race or anything else. Once you declare as a transperson, is it permanent or can you go back to your prior or even another totally different gender?

ha, you're not middle age...

Why couldn't someone go back is the better question? The core of it is really just not be a dick to people you think are weird, if they aren't hurting anyone and are being genuine. If this were a prevalent attitude in society, there'd never be laws about race/sexual orientation/gender identity.

age and race are a good example actually because these are fluid, these are acceptable things for you to change about yourself, to a certain degree, so there's not really any solidified communities around them. You can act like a child if you want, or an old man, and no one oppresses you for it. You can "act black" if you want or "act asian" and for the most part youre okay (mostly because there aren't really recognized behaviors for those things, so no one can tell you consider yourself "transrace").

As i'm typing it out... this kind of demonstrates what discrimination is. You can change the way you act in many, many ways and be accepted in most places, but if someone finds out you were born a woman, but look like a man in every way, they could make your life miserable. Or if someone finds out youre a dude that is attracted to other dudes, you could face repercussions. Then on top of this, there are people passing laws to continue to marginalize you.

It would be like if it were illegal for people over a certain age to play with legos or watch cartoons, or to listen to music not made by a member of their skin color.

NC discriminates against siblings who wish to engage in sexual intercourse as well as adults who wish to possess what is labeled as child pornography or engage in sexual intercourse with minors by making these things illegal. Is this wrong?

LOL, that's not discrimination (at least in the civil rights sense).

There is a philosophical argument that incest isn't harmful, but I don't think pedophilia meets this standard.

Because pedophilia is harmful, it's not your natural right to assault children.

Incestuousness isn't a sexual orientation, because your family members can't be considered a "class" of people, so that's not really a discrimination issue (no class of people is being targeted). Whether there should be laws governing this, when all parties give informed consent is another thing, but i wouldn't put them under the umbrella of discrimination issues.

Not wanting to associate with a behavior that can't be attributed to a class isn's "discrimination" in the civil rights sense, more or less.

If age is fluid then why do you consider pedophilia harmful and why are age of consent laws not discriminatory?

unsure how accurate this is but saw it floating around
http://myfox8.com/2016/03/29/myths-vs-facts-about-house-bill-2-released-by-nc-gov-pat-mccrorys-office/

i will say one thing though... the GOP appears to be taking all the heat on this; why are the senate D's not under just as much if they intentionally didn't vote at all (and 10 house D's did vote in favor...)

seems like you'd at least show up to the job and have it on record you voted... otherwise you're just as liable for what goes on IMO

Except paypal has a global operations center in Malaysia, where homosexual acts result in lashings and jail. I guess these liberal "values" only apply when it is convenient for publicity. I guess I am just being Malaysiaphobic though.

At least with the Senate Dems I believe they make a greater impact overall when they all walked out during the live session. Their votes weren't going to count for shit, so they made a different kind of statement altogether. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't know that there was a precedent for that in this state.

But yes...politics also.

Luckily Nickelback is on their European Tour currently so they can't cancel any shows. I would probably have to join the #HB2 drum circles in protest if a Nickelback show got cancelled over it.
