I've had 2 different Xboxes and lived with people who had 3 others. I've never had RROD. My drive was starting to fail on the first one I had but I had it for like 4 years and played the shit out of it - what do you expect?

because you will have to interact with your set top box. its a pass through. like if you have a TiVo you're gonna see the TiVo UI right along side the xbox ui. only if you have a cable box that supports sending commands over hdmi (probably none of them) will it work.

also it means you still need to have a fucking shit pile slow tuning cable box. the entire point of the xboxo is supposedly removing complexity and instead its just another dumb box.

like if it was a set top box replacement then you could get into stuff like offering discounted xboxos with cable contracts. that would get Microsoft a massive number of new customers who don't give a shit about the latest rehash of terrible contard shooters like dog blops: ghosts.

its another wasted opportunity

there are two ways this works. either your cable box supports commands over hdmi or you connect the ir blaster on the xboxo to ur cable box in which case you get both UI overlays.

Just heard from someone (not 100% sure) that it won't allow used games. Dislike. If Sony allows used games on the PS4 then we can say goodbye to Microsoft as a console developer. If Sony were smart they would allow used games on the PS4 but not on the PS5.

because some people really want to be able to purchase it at the store, also it saves big chunks of data that you don't have to download. I'd bet they will also be available as download.

I for one like owning something tangible so I see the appeal though I have and do buy digitally if its the same price I'd like a disc and a case just for the freedom to take it, sell it, etc.

(Granted, being able to play without the disc and not needing to be online will make it easier for fighting game tournaments to be organized)
