Funny how much this show feels like Entourage. Can't wait to see where they go in Season 2 now that they will have more money than they know what to do with. I'm also kinda surprised they didn't flat out kill David Gregory in Season 1 before it got weird that he was never around. He was on Safari with Kanye. Would have been a great opportunity to work in him getting mauled by a wildebeest or something.

I feel like he's too much of a comic relief character for that (well I guess they all are...) but that part when she was talking about how when he gets angry he makes that sound then when she called him that is exactly what he did, I lolled.

This show would be pretty good if:

1) the best cast member of the show didn't die,
2) the main character wasn't a sniveling faggot,
3) the unfunny reject from The Office (aka skeletor) wasn't in it.

I am still watching it, but it's about to lose me.

^^the actor died in real life. that's why he was saying they should have written him out.

Finally watched the Season Finale...I was not displeased.

Like how it ended, would be really easy to move the focus away and not have to include anything with Peter's character, we could have most of his words/thoughts/actions carried out by his assistant that is crushing on Richard.

just finished this show. pretty good. the finale dick bit was perfect.

i'm surprised they didn't just write out the guy that died. they seem like they're going to keep him in the story, without actually showing him, which seems dumb.

also, i'm not an expert, but i am a programmer. is it feasible for hooli to reverse-engineer the guy's code like they did? is it just something we're supposed to accept without question? or is that legitimately possible.

It's just math, anyone can stumble across a math equation, this can and does happen.

But in the show, it's clear they are struggling with it, and they still haven't really mastered his methodology.

I'm wondering if the strategy for handling Peter is "shit! He's dead. Let's just keep him somehow in the background for the rest of the season and well recast him for Season 2." That first actor was awesome, which sucks.

They have said they don't want to recast him out of respect for the first actor. I think it would be hilarious if it just becomes this running joke that he is always out doing something ridiculous. Even if they decide to get another actor instead of the girl to be the voice of his company I think they should continue mentioning that he is out doing something crazy.

^^^ but they didn't just stumble upon the algorithm. they took his demo executable (or dlls or whatever) and decompiled it to get the source code. or at least thats how it seemed to me.

I love the understated one liners like Dinesh saying, "that might be the last time we see him alive," when Jared walks away after the pivot talk. Mike Judge is the best.

It's very possible. I just reverse engineered an Excel add-in DLL some third party had written. I decompiled it and tore into it to find a bug they wouldn't fix. I stole the important bits of their code and built some new pieces without bugs.

There are ways to protect your code against most "easy" reverse engineering tactics, but in the end, it's all assembly. You can use a low level debugger to step through and patch code even below kernel level.

Binge watched the whole season yesterday. Didn't have high expectations, but this shit is pretty good. I was laughing so fucking hard at the jerk off brainstorm.

Yeah that whole jerk off conversation was fucking gold, and they carried it through the rest of the episode too. I feel like it constituted half the episode.

This show went from funny to fucking gold over its first season.

Skeletor guy from office is fantastic; I don't know how you cant find him hilarious in this.

Disparate? But yeah that's the best way to describe that episode.

I wonder why Big Head was essentially written out of the first season...I figure he'll be back at some point.

I think at this point Dinesh is my favorite character.

Meh, felt like Big Head was basically a pointless character, definitely the lesser character of the group. I'd be fine if he was just disappeared or they just occasionally showed him sitting on top of the building with the other "unassigned" guys.

i'm sure there will be a longer running arc for Big Head's overall involvement. it's not like a network show that has 22 episodes to develop or write off a character. This show had 8, and Big Head was off the team by the 3rd. There has to be something in the works that will bring that decision full circle.

he's also a recurring character on Maron, so there very well could have been filming conflicts if they were in production at the same time

agreed. I hated his character on the office but somehow his character on this show is much better even though there are some similarities at times.

I don't understand the question, then. I would say absolutely don't watch it with them, as you've acknowledged, but where does them being awake come into play? Are you asking if the show has language and audible subject matter that you don't want them to overhear? Absolutely.

It certainly doesn't have the HBO standard level of nudity, but it makes up for that in language. If the kids can hear the TV I'd say no. Dunno if that answers your question or not.

^^ there's a 4-minute long joke about jacking off a room full of dicks. but there's math involved, so its probably okay if they hear it.

So going with the alternative, you must live in a house with only room.

Solid first episode, filled with plenty of awkwardness! I know the actor died so it shouldn't have come as a surprise, but I thought they were going to keep up the Peter Gregory ruse for at least part of Season 2. Not a ton of action or memorable moments, but good setup for the rest of the season. Enjoyed the "negging" board room scenes, and Monica sneaking up on Richard while taking a whiz.

I didn't really like the woman they brought in to replace Peter Gregory. It felt forced, like they wanted her to be that same socially awkward, rambling character. Almost like they took the previous actor's lines and mannerisms and reworked it for a new actress. Other than that I thought it was a good first episode.
