^not a huge deal but I think at this point the standard rule is to not discuss previews.

For most shows this is barely anything I even notice, but I really love the music for this show, sometimes the songs they choose are a little on the nose (such as last episode and the finale last season), but I still absolutely love how they are used, and the score is fantastic as well.

Kevin is going to come back with the power to make people depart or bring them back

then he is going to go to Alexandria and make the horde disappear from around the wall

then he is going to go help Da Vinci read the book of leaves

then he is going to go get rid of the Darkness, and steal Sam and Dean's car, and ride off to "where is my mind" while tearing up a tape of "carryon my wayward son"

I looked forward to watching True Detective season 2 every week but I still thought it was pretty bad

it's more like, "what the fuck is gonna happen this week" type of intrigue

That was a... weird episode.

I figured the bird flying around in the hotel lobby had something to do with Erica burying birds. I think that since Erica buries them, they go to wherever Kevin was? And if they "survive" that they survive the box? I'm not entirely sure, there is so much symbolism in this show so perhaps someone can explain it more.

Yeah I don't think it was something to catch; they pretty much beat you over the head with it just like the latest bird Erica buried got beat down by grandpa pedo.

What was the score throughout the ep?

Nevermind
Nabucco: Act III - Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves "Va pensiero, sull'ali dorate" by London Symphony Chorus, London Symphony Orchestra & Richard Hickox

^i disagree, I think this is one of the best shows on tv, and while I still liked that episode, it was probably one of my least favorite of the season. A running theme throughout this series has been keeping you questioning with regard to certain things whether there is something mystical going on, or people are just insane/or there are legitimate explanations, and I really like that it keeps you wondering. That episode seemed to just be saying, yes all that mystical stuff is real and this is really happening.

This newest episode I loved, that ending!

Will be interesting to see how they tie all of this shit together. It looks like they're going to blow up the bridge...but do they do it with the missing girls tied to it or something? Or just have them jump off the bridge? So many possibilities!!

How did last season end? I know we don't get answers to everything, but just wondering how much finality we get to the current storylines. I know Laurie left the Guilty Remnant and Kevin and Nora got the black baby. But that's all I remember.

^ the guilty remnant staged a huge anniversary thing with all of those synthetic bodies and the town burned down the guilty remnant home.

pretty cool that this season has been so different structurally, yet will mirror the first season so well (with another guilty remnant anniversary stunt)

this write-up goes in to how awesome the structure of this season has been:

I was thinking they were gonna blow up the bridge too but then I thought that wouldn't really do too much. It might halt tourism for a while but it wouldn't take much time for a temporary bridge to go up so the residents could go in and out. Maybe they are gonna destroy all the fencing so that all the squatters outside can rush in?

Sidenote: How is that bridge the only way in to town? What is stopping the squatters from sneaking in to the other side or swimming or something? Is the town in a giant valley or something?

does make for a much more interesting episode than I had originally thought.

So why wasn't any law enforcement action taken when Meg & co pulled that stunt on the school bus? That's legit terrorism and if any kind of radical group were to do that to a bunch of kids, they'd be in a lot of legal trouble regardless of whether or not anyone was actually hurt.

So... a lot happened but I still think I don't quite get it.

The weird thing with the cavewoman was never mentioned again.

Was John's father-in-law the one who left the pie on the porch? I think I remember something about that but what was the significance of the pie?

Never really showed what was up with the three girls running around naked in the woods.

Also, Kevin is one tough mofo. He's died three times this season, lol. I guess in last night's episode, the bullet didn't hit any organs or anything. Just stop the bleeding and he's good to go!

Trying to understand why 'Pattie' told him that the girls just went 'poof' if she was indeed truly there and a spiritual entity.

We are building a lot of unanswered stuff, just like in 'Lost'.

^ We have no evidence that either

1) Patti truly was a spiritual entity and not a figment of Kevin's psychosis
2) If Patti was a spiritual entity, that she was always truthful

One thing that kind of bugged me about Patti and whether or not she was a hallucination -- I feel like in that situation, Kevin could have easily just gotten a deck of cards out, shuffled them, picked one at random and shown it to her without looking himself, then asked her what card it was. If she truly was some kind of entity, she'd be able to (and would want to) prove it by telling him the correct card every time.

Not to mention the fact that if you're holding up the 3 of clubs, but yet the dead woman that you're talking to says it's the 9 of hearts, is it really that much of a stretch for your mind to "see" the 9 of hearts when you look at the card to check?

I gave up on this show about midway through Season 1. I couldn't stand any scenes with the Guilty Remnant but I really liked Christopher Eccleston. Should I try it again?

Eccleston only had one episode this season centered around him but it was a very strong performance. He does a really good job (as does everyone else). Definitely would suggest giving it another go. GR is not as prominent in this season but does have two episodes focused on them.

I feel like maybe you need to rewatch the show.

The two of them were always somewhat friends; Now they are finally on the same page without any secrets between them.

The last scene showed everyone; including Matt and his awake and aware wife smiling in Kevin's house.

They did not explain the earthquakes. I doubt they will.

yeah no that was kind of the whole narrative point of the water vanishing.

also going up the page a bit but at the time of her incredible jeopardy monologue about dying i was fairly convinced she was real. and how did grandpa sense her specifics without being told? lucky guesses?
