Recently watched Manchester by the Seas... we really enjoyed it, but holy shit depressing!

Also watched the Netflix movie I'm Thinking of Ending Thing with Jessie Buckley (Fargo, Chernobyl...) and Jesse Plemons (Friday Night Lights, Breaking Bad, Fargot). We like it, but holy shit weird!

I've been completely uninterested in Netflix lately. The last thing I watched was the Haunting of Bly Manor. It's almost to the point to where I don't want to get invested into a good show on Netflix or Amazon, because they just cancel them out of nowhere.

I finally got around to watching Parasite and thoroughly enjoyed it.

The comment about the self-portrait is probably the hardest I've laughed while watching a subtitled film.

Possessor was pretty good and a superb concept but not sure it lived up to the hype

The New Mutants wasn't terrible terrible but it was pretty standard YA level

The Rental is a pretty good straight ahead thriller

Eyes of my Mother is a little older but good weird horror

^Cool, I didn't know David Cronenberg had a son that was making his own feature length films now.

Speaking of horror, I haven't seen it (I think it comes out later this month) but I've heard some hype about The Vigil, a Jewish horror film about a dybbuk box, I believe.

I thought it was terrible - just a boring plot and lazy dialogue.

The Dig on Netflix was pretty good

Agreed, I wanted it to be good so bad. I was really into it and then halfway through it I realized it was going to be a let down. I kept waiting for something to really make it exciting and was left with an "ohhh, that's it I guess"

Freaky was a really fun movie. If you like the happy death day franchise, you'll like freaky

Also finally caught up with Minding The Gap somehow crushing and uplifting at once

I didn’t dislike Boss Level, but I was a little let down by it. Had a fun premise, and some good action, but just felt a little anticlimactic and didn’t live up to its potential.

Between Worlds

Today is the last day to watch it on Netflix!

I don't think I have ever seen Nicholas Cage like that. Good acting by him and Franka Potente. Last time I remember seeing her is in "Run Lola, Run", when she was half her current age.

Pretty decent movie, but I wasn't happy with the ending; one of them could have....

Bohemian Rhapsody was very good. Rami Malek killed it.

(and it's funny that Mike Myers plays the record exec who refuses to use the title song as a single from that album.... since he and Dana Carvey introduced it to a new generation in Wayne's World)

The Boy Next Door
Totally psychotic movie.

Curve
Even more psychotic.

When The Bough Breaks
Also psychotic LOL, but not as much as the other two.

Definitely recommend the middle one.

On a FB group where difficult and taboo topics are discussed (great group, BTW), someone brought up the topic of horror movies and mentioned a movie they have seen, A Serbian Film.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A_Serbian_Film

I read the plot and I think I will have nightmares now
