Great job to move it off the 1 yard line on second down and a well designed play on 3rd down to get it to a playmaker in space.

If we can just eliminate the penalties this drive this is a great opportunity to march down the field.

Their defense has been on the field quite a bit and we have shown we can run the ball and make tacklers miss. Just keep the plays short and sweet and advance the clock. We can't afford to be down two scores at half.

Here's the thing. If you run the ball or throw short throws you only need about 3 yards per play. We've shown we can consistently pick up that kind of yardage.

When you throw the ball down field you need to complete 1 if not 2 passes out of 3. We can't maintain that type of consistency with our QB weak arm and our WR propensity for drops vs Clemson. It's simply not sustainable, period. The down field throws only serve for a prayer and to keep the defense somewhat honest to open up our preferred method of play.

But the chances of drive ending sacks, holding penalties, and game altering fumbles and INTS if we try a deep passing game completely offsets the gains we get by keeping the defense honest.

HOW THE FUCK CAN WE NOT OBSERVE THIS?
