This coaching staff sucks so hard it's ridiculous.

Clemson had 1 timeout yet we went prevent defense and gave them an opportunity to march straight down the field and have an "extra" possession. Not to mention we forfeited our opportunity to force a turnover or get the ball back on downs while Clemson was in an obvious passing situation. That's the part that really gets overlooked. Sending a Blitzer while our D line has its ears pinned back gives our defense quite the advantage on the line.

That should have been Clemson straining to get in FG range not free cracks at our end zone with a guaranteed FG backup plan.

We are playing to cover the spread, not win the game and I am a firm believer that's unacceptable. I know alums love a coach that covers spreads and that boosts his chances of job security.

But we had a legitimage shot to win this thing going into half if we held them there.

We traded a guaranteed FG for a lower chance of TD and they got the TD anyway. What a fucking backfire strategy. And it's ALWAYS been incorrect.

We HAVE run the ball pretty effectively. And our East - West passing game for all intents and purposes IS a "running game". It's designed to get the ball to a playmaker in space and let him beat his man for yardage after the catch.

Throwing the ball downfield, i.e. North-South. is completely different and we are well below average at it.

It requires effective blocking which is difficult against Clemson front four. These false starts are a result of us getting squirmy to contain blocking assignments when they move around on the line pre-snap, it's not sheer lack of discipline or not knowing the snap count.

It requires our WR beating their matchups which they haven't shown the capability to do with consistency. And it requires people to catch the ball and our receivers are prone to drops.

It also requires a QB who has some arm strength which we don't have. His strength is recognizing the coverage and mismatches, limiting mistakes, and getting the ball to playmakers. Throwing the ball downfield accomplishes none of that

Just looking at stats and saying all passes are the same is very low level analysis. Our drives have resulted in 3 points so we can rack up all the "passing yardage" we want but it hasn't been effective, period.

Also at least 120 of those are YAC or came on a trick play. So it's disingenuous to act as if we are throwing the ball downfield effectively

27 passes to 11 rushes though...I like how well the passing game is working but I do think we need to mix it up a little more before Clemson starts to figure it out

You guys realize we are HUGE dogs in this game. The more possessions the greater our chance of losing.

We need to get the ground game going ASAP and keep our defense off the field. They've had an unbelievable day so far.

I'd like for us to give them a chance to preserve the excellence instead of giving them multiple opportunities to wear themselves out, give up a big play, or collapse down the stretch.

Clemson definitely got away with a couple DPI, face mask, and a couple holds too. Seems like most of our penalties haven't necessarily been bad calls. But clemsons gotta away with plenty.
