-WR play will lose us games this year if they play like this all year
-Armstrong is legit. By far the best player on offense
-Allen should be rb1
-Dave still sucks at clock/timeout management
-defense isn’t as good as hyped
-already missing the greatest college football kicker in the Acc
-won the game, on to ND.

Missing that 50 yard FG is more on the play calling/clock management leading up to that than the kicker Imo. But Dunn will be missed for sure.

Defense seemed fine. Not the ‘85 Bears. But fine.

I thought Armstrong was good but could’ve been better. The few medium to deep passes he threw were off from what I could tell. He’s a veteran guy, that seems correctable. His mobility is impressive.

I generally don’t buy the “we kept it vanilla on purpose” stuff in early OOC games. But offensively it felt like it was either intentionally simple or maybe everybody is still learning a new system.

Hard to not see that the wide receivers kept dropping easy balls. That’s what I took away from the offense. Armstrong has an odd ball anyways, but he’s the guy to have to start this offensive era. I agree it did look bland, noticed hardly any motions, audibles, shifts etc. which I thought was odd for Anae

Definitely some drops by WRs. A few off target passes too, but I’m not trying to be too hard on Armstrong. He was the best player on offense for us. Definitely a lack of motion and shifts. Maybe that was intentional.

I think we were all worried about receiver after Carter and Thomas left, lots of young talent they need to grow up quick.

Oline and Dline play see like the will make or break us, Dline supposed to be a strength but didn't seem like it last night. Wonder when Savion Jackson will be back.

I think this is it.

Concepcion looked great. Armstrong is solid. If he can average 100+ a game we are in business.

Allen is clearly better than all the other RBs. Please play him more.

I think Houston is MUCH better at pass protection than Allen, that's got to play into why he gets more snaps. Allen trying to chip was laughable at best.

Teek-Teg, we have a problem with fans leaving at halftime to grab a cold beer(s) from their coolers and then never returning the second half to support our Wolfpack.

[Edited on September 6, 2023 at 1:08 PM. Reason : pass out = hand stamp or somethinganother to let stadium staff know you will be back inside]

Last year I tried it for the first time. They handed out paper cards, which is where the term comes from (they "pass out" the cards to patrons as they leave). Went to a buddy's car, got a beer, came back. Talked to maybe 1 person in the tailgate lot. And I missed 5+ minutes of the 3rd quarter.

That's the main argument against them: It's difficult to get back to the game before halftime is over. (Not to mention, you miss the band! for all the band nerds out there). Or even more likely, you get cozy at the beer cooler and enjoy paying cents a can instead of 10 bucks and never come back.

Obviously NCSU football staff, in particular DD, have wanted to get rid of these for years, but apparently they can't for code reasons as of now due to insufficient restrooms in the stadium to accommodate the halftime flux.

I love pass outs and I use them to the full extent of the rules. I'm also in Stadium West lot and can walk in and out in less than 5 minutes from the truck.

So its like a way to get in and out without having to pay for additional ticket or alcohol?

No, its a pass out at Halftime that you can go back to your car and get food or drinks if you wish and come back in with your ticket and pass. You have to show both to get back in

^^ Unless you have anything to point to that says otherwise, I don't believe you. I've heard this independently from numerous people as one of the main reasons pass-outs are still around.

I do believe you are right. Food options and restrooms. Until we turn into a full-service faciltiy. We will always have pass outs.

Haha, my alarm was that I thought they were getting rid of them.

I'm a fan of them. I'm fortunate enough to have friends with a tailgate spot about 200 feet from the Vaughn Tower's side entrance. Very convenient for ducking out at halftime for a brew.

So I guess this is ABC, a decent chunk of people with Spectrum cable will have to find alternate ways to watch? I have spectrum but our ABC is apparently not disney owned, luckily

All ABC except the one on your TV is Disney owned.

I’m guessing it’s because it’s the local channel? Like, you can get local ABC network for free with an antenna.

Yes some local abc affiliates are disney owned some are not, the ones not are still available over cable. That's my understanding anyway

I had no issues watching football games this past weekend on ABC on Spectrum. But ESPN, etc were blacked out. And by blacked out, I mean Spectrum had some text on the screen like "Disney is greedy, they do this all the time, trust us guys, it's not at all our faults"

I've heard no ABC on Spectrum in Triangle, LA, NYC, Chicago, San Fran, and Fresno

Please cite the city/state/federal building codes that specify a different amount of bathrooms needed during a game vs. at halftime.

Were fans given pass outs during the NHL game between the Canes and Capitals at CF because there weren't enough bathrooms for fans in between periods?

Yeah they always say that, and then when they hit a certain cancellation percentage they crawl to the Disney/Paramount/NBC with their tales between their legs and cave. Its only when its a small player like Sinclair or Cox Broadcasting to the Cable/Satellite carriers play hardball. My parents have Dish and haven't had ABC in Atlanta for 6 months, but ABC here is owned by Cox Broadcasting.

To be clear, I didn't insinuate that code requirements changed at halftime, just that the facilities couldn't handle the surge. It's entirely possible CF is grandfathered in to an old number of restroom facilities and while "acceptable" from a use perspective for the bulk of the game but is problematic at rush times, like hafltime.

Also, anyone who's worked with code officials or inspectors before knows there's a distinct difference between code and what's accepted in practice.

For all interested, I will provide further bathroom analysis at a later time (scintillating topic, I know).
