I just don't understand his 2021 season!

Also last year vs Cuse seemed like players were constantly getting schemed open, do they have a talent base that we don't? Or are people getting open but we don't know bc qb can't find em?

A very mild silver lining for our CBs?

ND is the best team we’ll play all year. We were toe to toe with them for 3 quarters. We aren’t gonna go 10-2 this year, that much seems obvious. But I don’t think it’s fair to act like we completely suck.

^^ nice it’s something to build off of for sure, and it keeps our streak alive of not allowing a QB to throw for more than 100 yards to outside receivers at home during noon games televised nationally that are delayed by a storm where lightning hits our scoreboard after starting the season 1-0 on the road while wearing our red uniforms starting a transfer quarterback with a new OC.

Yeah, can't be too upset when 21 points were off explosive fluke plays and we gave them two/three turnovers within the 30. Obviously any game will look better if you just take away all the bad, but we can clean up some of that. Offense is still not on the same page, but the WRs we brought in (Collins, Rozner) were getting chances.

CBs aren't the problem with the defense, it's the LBs.

lol. Not a fluke that we've given up gigantic run plays in both games

That game was a mess. Weather was pretty wild; in the 25 years since I started going to Pack games I've never heard the emergency sirens to vacate the area. The lightning (especially during tailgating) was insane. Was the first time I left the grounds during a game, and then return for what ended up being a horrible horrible second half. Gah.

^^ well shit, my b

^ Yes and no. Of course you can use it to say dumb crap like SD Mines has a natty over Bama or something farcical like that, but there is value in comparing the numbers, so long as you don't take them too seriously. For example, I didn't watch, but I'd bet the reason UConn looked so bad was that GAST was running a time-control, triple-option game (or I know they at least used to... not up on my Sun Belt offensive schemes... shame...) and maybe turned the ball over. But there could've been more to it than that, idk, I was hoping someone had more info

[Edited on September 12, 2023 at 9:02 AM. Reason : or maybe Georgia State's just good, that's also an option]

I mean i don't know about GSt but uconn was our first game with basically a whole new offense. Let's take the win and hope that they will improve as they play together more and young skill position players mature/lock in.

UConn starting QB was injured in thr 1st Q vs Ga State. He’s out for the year. Not sure how much that matters but probably worth considering when trying to look at their results.

Pitt - Cincy was the first (and so far only) game on CW right?

So we could have the prestigious honor of being the first ACC team to win on the CW. This could be huge for recruiting.

Lol at the constant yellow Liberty ad on the score graphic on CW. Looking like there’s a flag on every play. Football graphics should simply use less yellow (except when they’re actually is a flag). Seems obvious.

I, uh, don’t really know how good State’s new N&O beat writer is. Good job VMI for making more tackles than State when you’ve been on defense for 2x the plays as State’s defense.

No reason to play Morris in a completely meaningless game when he could be needed in real games and still redshirt. Would hate for him to have to burn another attempted redshirt year if Armstrong got injured with liked 4 games left in the year. Our QB depth behind him is dreadfully thin, so not really a surprise that a walk-on played. Only other scholarship QB is a guy with zero other offers who is a true freshman (and like Finley probably given a scholarship because of his brothers more than his talent)

The “plan” is to save MJs redshirt games till the very end of the season and let the other guys get garbage time.

Once the last four games come then they turn the reins over to MJ to be the starter.

We’ll see. I doubt they just make him the starter. Makes sense to get him reps. I don’t buy that the plan is to definitely start him the last 4 games no matter what

Houston is redshirting this year apparently.

Probably makes sense with how much better the younger RBs have been performing.
