yeh pretty much everywhere has 1/2...some places its 1/3 though (i know its 1/3 at ceasars)...

the excalibur has .5/1 on the electronic tables -- and one of those shitty places by imperial palace has .5/1...i think its called o'sheas. its awesome bc they have live karaoke pretty near the tables and a night club entrance right in front of the tables so i like going just to drink and look at all the hookers and crazy people going to the clubs or singing karaoke

David,

I just got back from Vegas, I'll second the Venetian for $1/$2 although there were far more solid players there than other places I played.

The best by far was at The Wynn. It's pretty small (about 20-25 tables mostly $1/3 and $2/$5 NL) but it was absolutely loaded with a bunch of rich calling stations. I played the $1/$3 which was super easy. A good buy in is $150, you can double up pretty easily and work from there. I really wanted to play the $2/$5 but I didn't want to risk the variance in my bankroll. I'm probably going to try it next time though, I remember watching from the rail and seeing some of the most bizarrely awful calls I've ever seen. You really should check it out at least once. There's a nice $70 MTT you can check out at the Mirage, I think it runs every day but I'm not positive. Good luck to you, I'll be coming back very soon myself.

Never been to the wynn. How far is it from the strip? How's the structure for that tourney?

the wynns a little bit out of the way -- you could walk it if you were feeling ballsy or its prolly like a 5 min cab ride from mid-strip.

i haven't played at the wynn but from all i've heard their poker room staff is shitty. its a baller casino though so i'm sure theres more than enough fishy rish assholes donating though

Got back a few weeks ago as well.

If you're looking to play cash games, no need to go anywhere other than the Venetian. Biggest room by far and it has a lot of action. I personally don't like the 1/3 at the Wynn, but maybe I've just been at a few bad tables.

If you have the roll, and are feeling up for it - play the 2-5 1k max at the Venetian. Sit back and wait to stack some dude overplaying top pair for $1,000. This is the only game I played, was there for 5 days, and did not have a losing session. Ended up making about 5-6k.

I'll be at the Borgata next week. WSOP circuit event @ caesars as well. Anyone gonna be up there?

You guys are to hardcore for me. I just try to win a freeroll here or there to get some free money to play with.

I was home sick the other day and ended up spending over 6 hours finishing 22nd in a 4000+ ppl freeroll. Sad part is, if I just folded out, I would have cashed, but I didn't even get a dollar. Person went all in w/ a A-4 bet over top of my heavy bet to try to steal the pot. I called with my JJ and looked to be in about 4th in chips until the A hit on the river. I can't imagine how pissed I would be if I ever lost real money like that. (I guess I have when I built up 5 free $ from one of these to 250 and lost it in the same manner.)

My biggest problem is not my skill. I have excellent reads on people. It's my management of money as the stack grows. I don't have the self-composure to store the winnings and go back to where I was. I always have the "I can win a ton!" attitude.

New table looks a little better. Not a big fan of playing 9 handed. May stop in a few to do some hockey sports betting.

Hey, I just started trying to use PokerTracker3 but it won't recognize my player as being at the table so it's not saving any statistics for me. Does anyone know why it's doing this or point me somewhere that can tell me why. I tried using the support forum but I couldn't find anything useful.

Actually I think his line on every street w/ AQ is fine (aside from river bet sizing [but hey it's 2nl lol]) -- river is a tad thin.

But T2 is a clear raise on both the flop and turn fwiw.

He could have, but not raising there from the SB is definitely not a leak imo.

4 handed OOP and at 2nl yeh raising here is just asking to be bent over and raped on pretty much all flops that you don't hit 2pr on.

You could say the same thing about someone who 5 bets all in pre with AA and gets run down by 83o making two pair.

Don't think you should be too results oriented there about not raising with AQ out of position. But I do think he misplayed that on the riv - put in one too many raises.

Yeah, I've just recently started reading the 2+2 forums and realized they almost never put the result of the hand up. But I still think it's good to look at each individual hand.

But even at the 5NL (it's not 2) and even in the SB you can raise to like $.14 there because the people limping in are literally limping in with like K2o or J4s and shit like that. Even they know not to call a raise that big with their junk. Everyone would probably fold and even if he gets one or two callers and hits his queen he'll probably be good there. Most people at this level don't even think about position so he'd probably take down an easy pot with top pair.

Yeh only thing is the equity of AQ against 3-4 random hands isn't high at all. And being OOP only tends to complicate things. Not to mention all the flops you miss (obv more than you won't) your going to feel like donk betting into how many ever randoms saw the flop and they will be floating you with a laughable amount of their range.

It's just silly.

Point of my rambooool -- nut peddle and play pots in position at the micro stakes.

Well which way is preferable then? Should he have limped in like everyone else or raised and gotten 2 or 3 people out? It doesn't seem like there's any way to win there.

on the flop nah..he can call reval...

but any big action on turn he can shut down pretty easily since its a 4way limped pot...ranges are superrrr wide there

Was in ACY this past weekend. Had dug myself a little hole in no limit (which for me meant 'no cards'). Played 2/4 limit. Was dealt AJ of hearts. Flopped the royal.

What did I win? $10

Waited years for a royal, and thats all I won. Good news is that I was hitting all day on limit, and won a few hundred bucks to put me back even for the trip.

Maybe because a lot of casinos will pay you for getting one? Borgata did not, but several others would have spotted me a few hundred.

Finally recuperated from the bachelor party. Made about $290 playing poker a few hours each day which I then blew on strippers and booze. The game is much harder than it was a few years ago. It was a fun trip though. Got to hang out with Turner some as well as a stripper I used to know in grade school. I was somewhat disappointed in the room. We had to call the maintenance man the first night to fix the ac, you had to pull the door shut when leaving the room, and there was no coffee maker. On the plus side, the blinds were automatic which I thought was pretty cool.

standing offer
If you get weekend poker rates at the borgata in ACY, and allow me and possibly 2 other people to share a room [obviously we share the room cost], your share of the gas in the airplane to get to ACY will be on me. Just PM me. Since I just got back, I'm not itching to go in the next 30 days, but maybe the month after.

I now get the discounted rate on weekdays, but dont play high enough to get more than 20% off the weekend (which anywhere from 300-400 a night).

Meh I sorta decided after my last trip to AC a few weeks back that I have zero interest in ever entering the state of NJ ever again unless forced.

Only live poker I wanna play from now on is in Vegas...not that I really am to excited about live poker in general though.

That's a shame imo. Some of the juiciest 5-10 games I've ever played in when tournaments are in town \ on holiday weekends. Plus, if you fly from rdu to philly, its ~120 roundtrip, with an hour train from philly to AC for 7 bucks.

Yeh I dunno my last few live experiences I always leave saying "i'm never doing this again". Whether it's been a $60 or a $1000 MTT or 1/2 vs. 5/10. I just can't get into it too much, I hate dealing with the people. Granted there's def no argument that it's more profitable (in terms or ROI or bb/100), i'd prefer just to have 15x the hourly and not have to deal w/ all the retards.

I get bored as hell. My phone died all 3 days b/c of internet usage. It's even worse when the service sucks. As stated earlier, the service at the Wynn sucked big time. That was also the tightest place I played, but may have just gotten stuck at a bad table.

How do you guys play with a big stack in tournaments? Do you tighten up and try to play big hands or play more aggressively closer to the button? When I do find myself with a big stack it's hard to maintain it and I'm not sure why.
