You could actually see the knot in his calf, and he came back in for the last couple minutes... you'd know this if you watched the game.

He can create his own shot, has a dangerous 3 ball, and a solid midrange game. What more could you ask for?

It was pretty funny when some of you did not list him in the starting lineup before the season started. Most of us told you he would be our best player.

Quote :
"So is it time to start worrying if he'll declare for the draft after this season?"

The biggest problem is he is too small for a NBA 2 and probably not quick enough/good enough handles for a NBA 1.

^lol...who in God's name didn't have him starting this year? It was common knowledge that he was our best player...lol

I remember some of the "insiders" on PP last season saying that he was the best player on the team then.

Not saying that I agree with that or anything, but it was probably pretty close.

Love Lacey but wish he could shake the inconsistency over the last month. Not sure he is as nba ready as some are suggesting.

Dang, he's clutch. Seems like a great kid, great smile, ,attitude, and seems like there is such a positive vibe from the team with him as the leader.

solid player. massive asset to this squad. but as stated earlier he isn't NBA ready.... YET. but if he keeps this up for another year (his senior year) i could see him being plucked up in mid 2nd round.

Better be in strong acc poy contention. But I think we know that goes to okafor

He just needs a game where he goes nuts to get heavy consideration. TJ was in the talk last year, but it wasn't until the UNC/Pitt games where people were like "this is a bad mofo."

If Lacey drops 40 somewhere, he's right up there with Okafor.

I just don't see it. One thing that was advantageous for TJ is that he was basically the sole scorer on the whole team. This year, it is much more balanced out.

I'll be pissed though if he doesn't get a first team pick. and Turner better get a second team nod.

Never seen someone that does so much better on difficult shots than ones that seem open/easy.

I do recall Hodge always making the ridiculously acrobat circus shots more frequently than an open 3.

Lacey's buzzer beater won the top spot of ACC Power Plays for the week. Even beat out the monster dunk in the Louisville game.

From Butler to Alabama, now at N.C. State, Trevor Lacey has become a big-shot standout

I have a lot of respect for Lacey after this game, not just his ability to play or the fact he carried us through a lot of shit in the game, but his demeanor on the court.

For example, Tokoto running his mouth to Lacey and him just backing off asking the ref what the problem was (this was during the cut the lead down by 14 pts era). Then Lacey has the opportunity to dunk the bitch at the end of the game in a full house of Carolina fans, yet he just dribbles it near our bench until time runs out.

It's nice to have players who aren't complete idiots and can play the game very well.

Good game tonight. A few wild shots, but he makes those lots of times. When he threw the pass out of bounds over our bench I almost lost it. Glad he didn't let that punk Tokoto get him in trouble.

I still can't decide if I would have rather had him dunk that shit on the last possession or have higher class than anyone on the UNC team by doing what he did.

I just hope we don't somehow lose him next year, that would be heartbreaking.

I think you do a combination of respect and in your face. It's not like UNC wasn't scrambling to score on their last possession. Respect in terms of not reacting to Tokato blowing smoke and chirping in the game. But if you get the chance to seal the deal on the game with a soul crushing dunk, take it.

exactly.... they did the exact same shit to us multiple times. take your beating like a man "not running up the score" or that its some how more respectful to win without having to score is the dumbest trend in all of sport. its more of a slap in the face to me knowing my opponent can just sit there and do nothing and win, while i can do nothing to stop the inevitable. like im being toyed with.

^^^ So you are saying to do a Tomahawk

Has Lacey ever dunked in a game since coming to State? I can't remember a specific instance right now.

I definitely think Lacey can dunk, probably impressively in a wide open scenario like that.

In a game with that much coverage though, he may have been nervous about attempting his first dunk of the year and possibly missing. Not saying he would, but if it was me and I had never dunked in ACC play, I would have probably done the same thing.

Yeah, no doubt that he can dunk, and dunk impressively, and I'm glad he didn't.
