I need to go back and rewatch. Is a Dothraki horde just loose in Westeros now? 5/21/2019 10:55:24 AM |

It isn't true that people didn't like it because the ending didn't simply go how they wanted, or the person they liked died, or didn't die.
It made no sense, and so many interesting aspects of the shows previous seasons turned out to be meaningless, or never addressed. If it was just a rushed or poor finale in terms of who won, or who died I think most would understand that they wish it was longer but sometimes shows rush to finish.
In this case, the last season is so bad it really ruins the re-watchability of the show. Knowing how many aspects of the previous seasons turn out to really not matter makes it hard to ever want to go back and rewatch because you just sit there knowing it has no real direction to any of it. 5/21/2019 11:01:58 AM |

Nobody is blaming the actual cast. They did a good job with what they had to work with, acting wise. It is the writing that was lacking. 5/21/2019 12:47:11 PM |

I think it's implied they got on a boat not no info why/where. Westeros seems ripe for pillage, only Dorne has an in tact army.5/21/2019 12:54:42 PM |

Someone explain the purpose of the Lord of Light to me. Seriously, did this "god" exist just to counter the NK? If so how fucking dumb is that. So much effort was put into that god and it's followers.
And why the build up about winter? Which ended up being a very short winter. 5/21/2019 12:56:21 PM |

^Tyrion stated something along the lines of "don't worry about that, it'll only make your head hurt".
That was the writers essentially saying "we're abandoning all of the Lord of Light and prophecy stuff in the show, deal with it." 5/21/2019 1:38:50 PM |

That whole thing is annoying. There was that whole prophecy about Azor Azhai saving Westeros from the Night King. Berric Dondarrion and Melisandre both used magic from Azor Azhai, so we know that at least in the GoT universe, there really was something to back up this prophecy and it wasn't just a legend. But ultimately it didn't go anywhere.
I guess Beric did die helping Arya, who went on to kill the Night King, so maybe that was it? All Melisandre really did was light the Dothraki swords on fire. Which did absolutely nothing to help them.5/21/2019 2:13:52 PM |

Nevermind. Saw your post on previous page. I agree with you. Sophie Turner may feel unappreciated because of bad feedback from viewers, but she could just blame D&D.

To be fair GoT was amazing until it ran out of source material. The new Star Wars trilogy is supposed to be based on the Knights of the Old Republic series, and there is a TON of material for them to use in putting those movies together. Shouldn't really have to come up with a ton of material on their own.5/22/2019 9:34:17 AM |

The Wire last season plot line was the worst of the 5 seasons but there was still a ton of good stuff and the end was excellent.

the ending of the Wire was perfect for the show, as it showed that the problems in Baltimore were self-sustaining. Michael turns into the next Omar, Dukie turns into Bubbles, the "Greeks" continue supplying dope to any dealer that survives, the political machine keeps churning, and the next man up deals on the corner where the former dealer got murdered. For all the effort that law enforcement, schools, and politicians put into trying to clean up the city over five seasons, nothing was any different. 5/22/2019 3:23:25 PM |

^^She paid the old debt by sacking High Garden then took out additional loans to hire the Golden Company. No way the Iron Bank just lets that go and they have the faceless men right down the street. 5/28/2019 10:58:03 AM |
LudaChris All American 7946 Posts user info edit post |
I mean, if someone has no heirs, no spouse, and no personal belongings(her entire kingdom was rubble), not really sure the Iron Bank has much foot to stand on there in trying to collect from her brother who is now the Hand of the King.
Iron Bank made a bad investment on Cersei and she lost, doubt they can collect on anything.
I also imagine the Iron Bank is going to want to have good relations with the new King, and attacking the Hand or demanding payment probably isn't the best way to facilitate that. 5/28/2019 11:32:46 AM |

^^right but did the iron bank actually pay anything out or not. Does gold comp get paid in advance? If not, did IB give cersei the coin or like a "we'll pay" note. Also doesn't IB often use GC to pay debts. What good will a faceless man do? Kill Tyrion? Kill bran? 5/28/2019 11:58:45 AM |

I really don't understand the use of darkness in this show.
This episode was good, still not quite S1-5 of GoT level but definitely in that S6-7 level. 10/4/2022 10:38:52 AM |

This episode was really the only one that I was bothered by the lighting. The one where they went out onto the street of silk was also quite dark, but I thought that one fit thematically since it who knows what is happening in the shadows and when things got close they were brightly lit by torchlight.
This one was just people standing on a beach, there’s no reason for us to not be able to see anything. 10/5/2022 3:40:46 PM |

I actually used these scenes to recalibrate my television. It's still dark, but it was good for me getting between the balance of seeing what I need to see not having the characters look washed out in some scenes with low lighting. 10/11/2022 12:29:48 PM |

Last 2 episodes set up Season 2 nicely.
Has it been said how far they are going to take this show. Are they going all the way up to the death of Aerys II (The Mad King)?
My one complaint is it seemed like Vhagar's size changed a lot. In the Finale he was insanely large compared to Arrax. I realize he is one of the orginal 3 but just seemed like he was much bigger than when we last saw him. 10/24/2022 9:03:38 AM |

I absolutely would not imagine that, thats 200 years of show.
I don't want to Google books I haven't read and get spoilers but I think this show will go through the end of this war.
Took 10 eps just to get the war started.
