Speaking of this, it doesn't seem unreasonable to be able to move down to the lower bowl at halftime if it's half empty. I have heard wake forest does this, even in the non-student seats. Anywhere else?

I wish season ticket holders could move down to the lower level, so RBC wouldn't have a packed upper level and sold out (or close) game, but half empty lower bowl on TV for many non-conference games. Yes it is sometimes possible to sneak down into a section, but Wake Forest actively encourages people to move down low especially if the game is on TV. This was true before they started routinely having crowds of 2-3 thousand people like this year.

The only GA student tix when I was there was when we still had grass seats. I about got in a fight with a stupid bitch one game because I wouldn't move down the bleachers to make room for her and the rest in their group that didn't have tix for that section....and it wasn't an empty section.

On the radio Friday Adam Gold was talking about Yow's comments regarding funding. He said that State needs to sell more season tickets in football...and we won't do that playing teams like Liberty and South Alabama at home. Gold said we should get a big name, like Duke did with Bama this past season. He's wrong IMO...we are not Duke when it comes to football. We will sell a ton of tickets in football. First, we're coming off a strong season and have decent expectations this year. Second, our football fans have never had a big issue showing up (basketball may be another story). I disagree with him on that. Now, if Yow says we need more money then I'm sure she's right...but I don't think football season ticket sales are the answer...

I think you are correct with this statement. Rumor was floating around that we couldn't offer much more than we ended up paying for Gottfried because the BOG was unwilling to authorize this. If you compare our salaries in the two major revenue sports it isn't even close. However for some reason they authorize UNC to spend major bank

Roy Williams- 325,000 annual salary + 1,250,000 supplemental compensation (this is not counting any performance incentives just guaranteed money)

Butch Davis- 315,000 + 1,200,000 supplemental compensation (again not counting any performance incentives)

This is fucking ridiculous I guarantee our football sales FAR exceed carolina but for some reason they are allowed to ante up all of this guaranteed money for their coaches while we are only authorized to spend at a second class rate. This was probably Yow's best attempt to bring this to light without directly calling out the BOG.
