I called HR Wednesday morning to see if I still have a job since I'm out of leave and they still haven't gotten back to me. Not really sure if that's a good thing or bad thing.

No idea. Hopefully I'll find out soon. My coworkers have actually donated over 100 hours. Sweet people. But I'm probably going to be out for well over a month, so I still don't have enough.

Last time I talked to my bosses they said that my current shift no longer existed, but I could work the night weekend shift when I get back. A coworker told me that her and everyone else I work with agreed to keep working my hours till I get back and to take reduced hours so I can keep my shift. After telling me that I was going to work night weekend, they hired someone for night weekend. He ended up declining the position due to finding another job. I really have no idea what's going on at this point. I feel like it's going to be difficult to find another job because nobody wants to hire a cancer patient, even if they're cancer-free, which I'm hoping to be soon.

That's pretty fucked up, sorry. I'd honestly consider talking to a news outlet if that's something you'd be up to. Give some coverage to an issue a lot of people deal with and probably land a new/better job out of it.

I finish short-term disability today and start long-term tomorrow. It's 50% of my income and lasts until 6 weeks after chemo. So yay for that.

I don't think I could go to the news. I haven't worked since January 11th and still don't know when I'll be done with chemo. A part of me thinks I can't really blame them. Another part of me thinks if my coworkers are willing to work around it, then they don't really have a reason to fire me. At any rate, I'm interested to see how this all plays out.

We just had our crappy old vending machines replaced with one of these Three Square Market installations. The old machines didn't take credit cards or anything, but you could at least see how much a fucking drink cost.

The company had the nerve to say that the pricing and selection would "fluctuate" too quickly for a price list to be useful. Fuck off! You're charging more than the fucking Coke cans cost from the old machines, and this fucking eyesore has TWO VIDEO CAMERAS monitoring us. I'm not installing your fucking app on my fucking phone to see how much you're gonna gouge me for a fucking Coke!

The dude I called out came by my desk a few minutes later to apologize. I told the guy he ought to apologize to the person on the other end of the phone. I walked into the bathroom expecting to hear someone pissing, my man. Your caller did not.

He also had to go and make it my business why he was even on the phone in the first place, which is like...? I don't give a shit.

Anyway, there's this lady who works in admin who all the time comes around picking snacks from people's desks. She has the audacity to have an empty candy bowl out at her desk.

i can not get people to stop printing and scanning documents, they keep sending blurry shitty looking proposals to potential clients. i have tried to show them both through email instructions and one-on-one how to save documents directly as PDF and how to assemble PDFs from multiple files and it has done nothing.

i'm supposed to be working on modernizing and streamlining some processes but i know it will be a waste if i can't even get them to save a word document as pdf

^4. For the past year I've been managing a pool of 80+ IC freight agents/drivers. I've come to realize that some people are simply incapable of performing certain tasks. If they bring significant value in other areas accept it and find a workaround/delegate that task to someone else.

Celebrated a coworker's birthday last week. Cake and stuff. Then after I left the cube, she told me later that our supervisor/manager asked her for a birthday hug. Joking or not....bruh...better stay woke! It's 2018, you can't say shit like that.

My boss has to approve all employees being added/removed/changed on the bonus program. To get his approval and make changes, I have to print out a list of all employees and their bonus rate, cross through and edit, remove, or add employees, set it on his desk and then he signs it, scans it in as a pdf and emails it on. I feel like banging my head on my desk every time this process happens.

^^That is weird. Aside from shaking hands when I first met my coworkers, I cannot for the life of me think of a single time that I have physically touched any of them. Nothing personal by any means, it's just something you don't really do in a professional environment.
